The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

This seems like a pretty big deal:

How much more damage are republicans willing to let this clown wreck on our country? Are tax cuts and judges really worth it?

Do we really want 4 more years of nonstop Twitter fights with celebrities, lying about weather forecasts, exploiting our military to for personal financial gain, and losing vital intelligence assets in enemy territory?

And think of what it means. It means our intelligence community, at the highest level, assessed the situation and determined that Trump posed a significant national security risk in regard to our intelligence agents.

This isn't "fake news" this is a decision, made by the people with the highest level of access to our nation's secrets and the secrets of our adversaries, to pull an unbelievably valuable asset because Trump might blunder (giving Trump a huge benefit of the doubt by calling it a blunder as opposed to something more serious, like ****ing treason) his way into revealing details that would get the asset killed.

Last night at work I had the rare political/social discussion with a person I work closely with.

It started with him talking about a past employer who did not offer medical benefits (or really any benefits) reacting to his employees talking about unionizing by offering the people who stayed a couple extra dollars an hour. The guy telling the story was obviously the hero, because despite not getting any benefits he was able to get a $5/hr increase. He said he felt kind of bad taking advantage of the situation. My response was that I don't have any sympathy for employers in a nation where health insurance is primarily provided by employers who don't provide health insurance. He came back with how horrible it is in Canada. I said I've heard a mix of experiences, but that besides Canada the rest of the world doesn't base health coverage on employment, so I have no sympathy for employers in the U.S. (a nation whose health insurance is employment based) don't offer insurance.

He had a pretty killer comeback. First, he had been to Canada, and wait times were a big deal. Second, when I said but people there don't die from treatable illnesses because they are poor he said "maybe that's a good thing." I said, "We'll my family has been poor, should I have died because my family was poor?" He obfuscated, and then said that it'd be okay if some poor people died because we need less people. To that I suggested that in addition to letting people die due to not being able to afford insurance we should also do what China has done by limiting who can have children. He had a good laugh and said "see, we agree."

We then went on and he spouted off on various religions and I had to frequently correct him on the basics of the worlds most common religions. For instance We started talking about India and he dove into some ridiculous anti-islam anecdote about some weird *** muslim in a barber shop talking about how the U.S. needs to burn, and in the meantime shave my head to look like a [cat] and the guy was watching porn on his phone the whole time. I asked him, "So this guy was Hindi?" That was a real stumper for him. We eventually figured out that he was confused and thought we were talking about some other random country in the "middle east" where they're Muslims. I explained how India split into two nations, one majority Hindu, the other (Pakistan) the majority Muslim. That was a very interesting fact to him.

Somehow Buddhism came up. It came up with this guy explaining to me that Buddhists believe in Jesus and Moses and stuff, but also believe in their own prophets. I had to back him up a little and explain that the Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, but that Muhammed was a more significant prophet. It was really confusing for him.

Just in case anyone is wondering, this guy is a Trump supporter.

Very interesting insights. Thanks for sharing.

One thing I can’t get over is that notion among some people (it appears to be stronger among Trumpers) that some people deserve to die. Or that some people deserve a harder life than others. I just don’t understand it. Maybe it’s rooted in racism and the (false) notion that certain races are dumber than other races and deserve to be subservient while other races deserve to be elevated and to lead? Or maybe it’s just ignorance, people unable somehow to relate to others?

Im just not cool with putting kids in cages. I’m not cool with torturing their parents. I’m not cool with how we’re treating Bahamians. And I just can’t imagine actually saying that some people deserve to die because they can’t pay for health care. I just can’t relate to people like that. I don’t know where to begin.

Apparently this guy had key access, just outside of Putin’s circle. What a horrible time to lose that asset. And I don’t trust at all the CIA nonsense that Trump’s loose twitter fingers and big mouth didn’t factor into the decision to offer to extract him. Sorry, not when the government lies over something like the hurricane forecast. That’s what happens when you lie nonstop. Your administration isn’t believed anymore, especially for the big things.

Yep, alarm bells must have gone off throughout our Intell community when the president revealed just how big his mouth could be:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump's_disclosures_of_classified_information

"President Donald Trump discussed classified information provided by an U.S. ally regarding about a planned Islamic Stateoperation during an Oval Office meeting on May 10, 2017 with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, providing sufficient details that could be used by the Russians to deduce the identity of the ally and the manner in which it was collected, according to current and former government officials.[3][4][5][6][7] The disclosure was first reported in The Washington Post on May 15, 2017. White House staff initially denied the report, but the following day Trump defended the disclosure, stating that he has the "absolute right" to "share" intelligence with Russia.[8]"

Loose lips sink ships...

Bolton is out! Which is good news, I think, for life on earth.

Of course, the White House is essentially being run like a D list reality show so there is disagreement about whether he was actually fired or not.

That would be a resounding YES YES YES...anyone is better that a lying liberal socialist.

Bolton was a hard nosed individual which could be beneficial to the position but he was also a bit of a war monger and we really don't need more wars. Glad he is out.

Who knows. The Fly on the Wall????

I listened to Mark Levin do a torrid patriotic rant today about Iran's terrorist program, including a hot criticism of the Bolton dump, more or less saying Bolton is the main man for American Security.

Back in the day..... oh decades ago, when Bolton was "helping" other administrations, he was often criticized for being a "neo-con", which I took to be basically a Rockefeller war monger. Recently, though, he has appeared with some regularity on Breitbart with a distinct anti-Rockefeller analysis of world events. Still one of the bolder American foreign policy wonks, though.

A few weeks ago, I did a screed on how "Trump is the Main Man" for the CFR now, and has the nod for another term as President. That would say, more or less, he is a Rockefeller wonk himself, now.

Trump has never been exactly principled, at least in ideological terms. Bottom Line $$$$ figures, maybe. But he's a helluva lot better than total sellouts wanting to level America with the Third World.

What has changed is ...... in a word...... China.

China has jumped the shark..... if what that means is coming out of the water showing a daring move for power. China has plucked the whiskers of the CFR/globalist elite and more or less declared war on the world order.

Bolton might not know it, but our elite are more worried about China than conservative American patriots.

The secret meeting with the Taliban shows the cards. The Taliban has always been one of the globalist puppet organizations, since Reagan, when they ran the Ruskies outta Afghanistan, part of the set up for war in the Middle East over oil. And to modernize the Islam world, which is to say, to secularize their governments. But all that is out the window now.

We need to make the deal with the Taliban. They want the deal. Yes they have their own rebels who have done attacks to disrupt the peace talks, likely with Chinese links. But with China doing camps on Moslems inside China, with the Belt and Road plans, they intend to dominate even Islamic areas and force Confucian/Chinese Commie ideology on them. I don't think even Iran really wants to be run over by the Mongols..... er.... the Chinese..... in the near future any more than in the past.

Bolton made a huge mistake trying to force Trump to stick with the old plan. Trump wants to get the Afghanis and Iranians on his team for the real fight.

I’m worried about why Bolton was ousted. Sounds like he was fired because:

1. He didn’t agree with Trump’s worship of evil strongmen and giving them photo ops while we got nothing.

2. He refused to go on Sunday talk shows and lie about Afghanistan.

Do we seriously not realize the dangers of compelling intelligence and security personnel to give the president only the answers he wants to hear?

Obama didn't give Iran money. You know that, right?

I can’t wait to see @JazzyFresh @Heathme @jazzrule spin this. Actually, I won’t see Jazzy, he’s on ignore. But I can’t wait to see him attempt to argue with you, @Zombie and @fishonjazz about how this is a genius move. There will be back and forth. And I’ll laugh when reading your exacerbated responses. He’ll probably say that giving Iran $15 billion in credit in exchange for nuclear proliferation regulations is like TOTALLY different than Obama unfreezing billions in Iranian money in exchange for nuclear proliferation regulations.

Trump! MAGA! #ownthelibs

I don't necessarily think anything will come of this (although it should), but it would be freaking hilarious if Trump were to be undone by Sharpiegate.

I think it's safe to say he has lost the science vote, lol. I don't look at science as a sacred cow, but I do respect the endeavor, and this is the most rabid anti-science president in history. A man who opposes the advancement of human knowledge should be a disqualifier for town dog catcher, let alone president of the United States.
