What's Good in the World Today Thread

This thread is simple. Post stories that show there's good in the world and make your heart warm and fuzzy. I think there's way too much focus on what's wrong with the world on Jazzfanz and although it's important to be concious of serious things, we sometimes hyper focus on that trash.

I'll start.

Dogs are the ****ing best. Can't imagine have surgery for 26 hours at that age. Glad they got that kid a Corgi. He ****ing deserves it.

I'll contribute!

Scientists from a European consortium led by Swiss Institutions, ETH Zurich and EPFL spin-off SensArs Neuroprosthetics, with clinical trials in collaboration with institutions in Belgrade, Serbia, successfully characterized and implemented bionic leg technology with three amputees. The results appear in today's issue of Science Translational Medicine.

"We showed that less mental effort is needed to control the bionic leg because the amputee feels as though their prosthetic limb belongs to their own body," explains Stanisa Raspopovic, ETH Zurich professor and co-founder of EPFL spin-off SensArs Neuroprosthetics, who led the study.

I bookmarked this awhile ago. Never knew this about these Eastern trees. I think it's a cool and feel good story of ancient living organisms on Earth.

In high school basketball I once scored a basket for the other team. One of the most embarrassing moments of my life at that time. By now it's not even in the top 10.

You were probably the guy that started, "baskets that way, chief."
Mine was on a put-back after a free throw. I was used to being under the basket on opposing FTs but my coach had asked me to move back a bit to try to get a fast break going. I had scoring on my mind and at my own basket I was usually one person back on free throws, so all that combined into me getting the rebound on the miss and going right back up and flipping it in off the backboard, and right as I let it go I realized where I was. We did win the game but that was so bad. And the basket counted for some guy that only scored 2 points...off that basket. Ugh.

Your coach should have cut you and banned you from games for life.

You should have posted this story in the thread I made - post something stupid you've done to make me feel better.

I think I might have, can't remember.

And in that game I was the top scorer, like 22 or something.
