Lockout!!!

Sure most of you heard that Stern and a couple of other FO people directly working on this lock out are meeting with Billy Hunter & D Fish tomorrow, trying to find a link but I think I heard it from Locke on my drive home yesterday.

Fisher just requested the meeting be moved so he'll be closer to his daughter's doctors - just in case there's an emergency.

But his daughter's doctors are in NY and that is where the meeting is, that son of a....

Well my guess is it's moved to London as the flight times aren't that far off (if they took the Concord)
 
...rumor has it...Sterns is now wanting cutbacks on salary that will only pay the players about 1/4 of what they were making! EXCELLENT!
 
While I really want to see NBA basketball this season, I would much rather the two sides comes to an agreement that makes for more competitive and balanced basketball. I'm tired of big markets having a huge advantage, tired of stars joining up, tired of Gilbert Arenas making too much money, tired of guaranteed contracts and bird rights, tired of seeing the same teams play on TNT all the time, etc.

I want to watch basketball, but I want it to be good basketball.

Your absolutely right. It seems like big name players are controlling the league, and big market teams are set up to succeed while smaller markets are set up for failure. I miss basketball as much as anyone, but I would rather have no basketball than bad/unfair basketball. Hopefully when they return players are going to have to come back and want to win for something other than the money. Maybe the love of the game perhaps?
