The only thing he can literally do is shoot, and generally he doesn’t do that well either. Is he really that bad? I think we desperately need a stretch 4/5 with length to throw at teams. Am I pipe dreamin? WTF NOT?

Two 2nd round picks netted Clarkson. Exum was just salary matching.Exum netted Clarkson, so it’s time to let the air out.
So you’re saying Exum was necessary? Two 2nd round picks netted Clarkson. Exum was just salary matching.
The counter argument would be that Exum’s salary was necessary. However, Exum’s salary over the offseason came directly out of the Jazz’s cap. Without that salary, the Jazz could have theoretically signed Malcolm Brogdon AND Bojan (while keeping Crowder and all or most of the pieces sent out for Conley). Two 2nd round picks netted Clarkson. Exum was just salary matching.

I’m trying for the very opposite of hair-splitting. I understood why they offered the contract when they did. It went bad. They turned that bad situation into a player that looks like he could be a key part of the core. Here it is.
His salary was a millstone over the offseason.

When I step back and see that, it’s pretty easy to end my moaning about Exum.
Or worse. We probably only needed one second rounder to get JC. But had to give away one more to dump Ex's horrendous contractTwo 2nd round picks netted Clarkson. Exum was just salary matching.
