The Jazzmen we miss the most

I'm probably in the minority but I miss George Hill - I don't know what the net difference would have been with him instead of Rubio at PG or DM's development; but in a vacuum I liked his game, I liked his stoic demeanor on the court.

And I loved his ability to hit open shots!!!!

First off, just a hell of a nice guy. I asked him how he felt the day he got traded to the Jazz and he very honestly told me he was devastated. He wasn’t excited to live in Utah and he hated Karl. I guess the season before, Karl drove to the hoop on Marshall with his knee up and cracked one of Donnie’s ribs. He went on to tell me how well he and his family were treated by fans and neighbors and that he couldn’t believe he could leave his house unlocked without worry. He said Karl and John quickly won him over with their work ethic and passion for the game. He said Karl was “the best teammate I’ve ever had” and said Jerry was easily the best coach he’d ever played for at any level. It was a contract year for him and I asked him if he’d like to stay. He told me that if he had it his way, he’d finish his career here. He also said most players have the same opinion of Salt Lake: It’s their last choice until they get here and then they never want to leave.

Sadly, the Jazz didn’t resign him but it was really cool to hear him say such great things about the city and the organization.

He ended up signing with Chicago for a lot less money than what the Jazz offered him.

1. Paul Grant.
2. Elijah Millsap.

Damn. Okay.
I remember him looking so much older. I guess that's what 17 years of aging will do to you.
