With Utah now firmly in its stride after a slow start to the season, and Conley looking closer to his normal self after recovering from a knee injury, I think he could certainly have a breakout stretch over the final third of the season.

Conley has always been immensely talented, and he makes too much sense on the Jazz not to be an important piece. As long as he’s healthy (and the team is helping by resting him on back to backs), he should be an incredibly valuable player. And with Utah playing so well as a team, Conley can be worked back in at his pace without the immediate pressure to perform. That all seems like a combination for sustained success.

Maybe the national writers know something we have overlooked.

you don’t think he can be good in the second half? We aren’t going very far without him.

I really hope we don’t rest him on one of the back-to-backs every single time. Like seriously wtf? When did every player become a complete and utter *****? The guy might be injury prone but ****. If he’s healthy, he’s healthy and he’s God damn 32, not 37. Seeding is sort of important and I don’t want to finish in some three way tie because we lost a very winnable game or two in these five B2B’s we have left. Like does the guy really need to sit for five ****ing games?

It'd be nice if it's during the playoffs but I highly doubt it, seeing how the team is more successful when he's not playing.

Numbers 2 and 3... yet we start a different lineup at the beginning of the game and second half. And that lineup is a -2.1... I really think Joe or Mike off the bench should be something we consider.

I think he probably will break out and I sincerely hope he does, because I'm getting tired of the whole "Conley bout to break out" narrative. "Any day, Conley is gonna start playing great", "Is this the game that gets Conley out of his funk", "Conley's breakout game is right around the next corner". I like everyone else want to know wtf this guy is gonna bring to the table. I don't think it'll be anywhere near enough, but it'd be nice to have an idea if this guy is a total failure on the Jazz or if he actually has some value when hes playing well.

He has been playing well... needs to sustain it and we need to keep winning.

I'm just as interested to see if Donovan gets back to form after a little break. Conley just needs to play at the level he has the last few games he played, but we really need pre-all star selection Mitchell back.

Lots of Conley talk in the Zach Lowe pod... lineups... starting... interesting stuff with him and Chris Herring.

Zach suggested Mike may not be starting in the playoffs... last 25 games would be the tell... interesting.

The FO and coaching staff have made it pretty clear he will be the starter. He himself said he would play off the bench if that helped the team. He did play off the bench. It did help the team. They moved him to the starting lineup anyway. Come hell or high water they will start Conley. I just hope the whole team figures out how to play with him as a starter because, as per the evidence so far...

No Conley >>> Conley off bench >> Conley starting

Shocking to me the team ignores the blatant evidence, sticks their fingers in their ears and are intent on la-la-la-ing their way out of the home court and likely out in the first round.

The jazz have no shot at a championship unless Conley regains a semblances of last years form. So of course he will start and be given every opportunity to make it work.

this was one of the 0.1% times I was right, we shouldn’t have traded for Conley, but what’s done is done, and the jazz only choice is to start him. I’m not sure both Conley and Clarkson works with both playing together. That’s just my 0.1% opinion

Agree to disagree.
Our best lineup is Mitchell, Ingles, Royce, bogey, gobert (2nd best lineup in the NBA). Then you have mudiay and Clarkson off the bench.
I think those players give us a shot at a championship.

It doesn’t look he’s agreed to anything; do you agree?

We seem to stay the course... which is good... sometimes. You don't want to be swayed with every wave that you encounter... but sometimes you move the way the ocean takes you and deviate from your original course and you might find more success. I'm actually cool with them starting Conley for now but switch course if it doesn't show improvement in the next 10 games. This being flexible also applies to Brantley/Morgan getting playing time... I realize the plan was for those guys to stay out of the rotation or season in the G league all year... they have more potential to bring the things the bench needs than TB and Niang… so maybe just try it... nothing says you can't go back if it sucks.

Sure.
Though it seemed like he agreed to Conley being necessary for the jazz to have a chance at a championship. Which I disagree with. I await his response declaring whether he agrees to disagree with me as well.

Cool. Glad you agree that it takes two to agree to something.
