Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

A coherent protest would have people somewhat organized with signs and people speaking in turn. What happened in SLC was just an angry mob venting their anger while some people hung around to watch.

Lol. What did they think was going to happen? Just go inside, hommies.

They would think that they were within their rights to stand outside their home on their property as it clearly states you can in the Minnesota DPS website FAQs regarding the curfew:

https://dps.mn.gov/macc/Pages/faq.aspx

Can I be outside my house (on my property) after 8 p.m. and before 6 a.m.?
Yes.

These cops, guardsmen, whatever are overzealous assholes who are making a bad situation worse.

I don't give a **** what the cure view says. I see a damn army of angry assholes looking for violence yelling at me to go inside, I'm gonna go inside. Lol

Which is what triggered these protests in the first place. Overzealous assholes making a bad situation worse. We’ve seen it countless times now on video.

This is an odd strategy.
1. Police overreact
2. Protests begin to protest police overreaction
3. During the protests, the police overreact

Um?

This. Yet the mob some how convinced themselves they're being virtuous.

All of this can be summed up by using the logic of good and bad. Killing Floyd was bad. Rioting and destroying **** is bad. I get wanting to make a stand, but to me, I have a hard time seeing anything positive that comes from it.
if you’re summing things up in moral binaries, then you can be sure you’ve wildly oversimplified what’s going on.

Why are we able to separate SLC from the moods, feelings, causes, and effects that are being experienced by their brothers and sisters in other cities of this country? You appear to have the wrong model for explaining how these kinds of events can spread.

Um?
4. Protest lead to angry, destructive, violent mobs.
5. Population sides with cops.
6. Conservatives win elections.

The question will be if Trump doubles down on his law and order rhetoric or strikes a conciliatory tone to try to sound more presidential. My guess is the former as he’s probably going to want suburban moderate female voters vs. African American voters as I can’t see them voting for him in any circumstance.

Republicans are the incumbent party. The pandemic, unemployment rate, and destruction we see are signs that we need different leadership.

guys, this is overblown. People aren’t remembering 1968 correctly. The incumbent party was thrown out of office then. Nixon and the republicans won because of the chaos. The country is going to **** on Donald’s watch and people think this chaos is going to help him? If hillary were president would we be saying that all of this would be helping her re-election? Come on. Can’t have it both ways. If the country was peaceful, healthy, and prosperous people would say it would help Donald’s Re-election. Now that it’s not, it helps his re-election too?

Similar to 1968, I think all of this chaos hurts the incumbent party and helps those who desire change. Not to mention that once these protests end in a few days, Donald will remind us once again on a daily basis how bad he is at his job. We can expect at least 3-4 more scandals to erupt and at least a dozen high profile twitter fights between now and November.

You and I know that Trump is not the leader we need.

This chaos will only mobilize the more white privileged Karen's to vote.

Another thing, if these protests wanted to prove one thing, that the military I mean police is over militarized and often escalates rather than de-escalates situations, these protests have been quite effective. Nationwide we’ve seen racism, police brutality, and chaos promoted by the police.

pretty clear it’s not just “a few bad apples” but systemic rot. Reform is necessary.
