I try not to engage with certain ideas by primarily shaming them, and I tend to not make arguments by appealing to demographics or identity, but I’m seeing a lot of white people on social media saying “I’m seeing a lot of white people on social media ____” and then offering up their explanation of the exceptionalism of what we’re seeing is appropriate, followed by an exhortation to “simply listen” to what the violence is telling us. I’m seeing strong black leadership from Atlanta pleading with people to not burn down their community. Then we’re seeing a celebration of white folks showing their solidarity by burning down black communities, or watching remotely and cheering in some sort of catharsis as those most victimized by these actions are the black communities themselves, and by people not even from those communities.
The St. Paul mayor had to walk back his statement regarding arrests and out of staters:

Where?
Think they're having ones in Asbury, Point Pleasant, Trenton, Newark...
Based on some stuff on Facebook there seem to be some who were going to pay attention (no really, they totally were, they said so) but since "they" started rioting now they're not going to pay attention. Are we listening yet?

There seems to be a lot of news now coming out about this. It sounds like the club owner has confirmed they worked together at the club but could not confirm if they knew each other or not for sure. They worked some same events together but Chauvin worked outside and Floyd would have been inside. I hope they throw the book at Chauvin, he deserves it.So...
"Minneapolis City Council Vice President Andrea Jenkins said Floyd and Chauvin knew each other for many years because they worked security at the same night club. Both men worked at El Nuevo Rodeo on Lake Street before their fatal encounter."
Not sure if anyone had posted this and I question its' validity because I've not heard about it as much as I'd expect to given the implications. But to me, if true, this is murder. Not ****ing 3rd degree. 1st degree murder.
The guy pulled out a bow and arrow and threatened protesters with it.
No doubt.Guys. It’s not about the looting. Its not about the violence. It’s not about left or right. Black people are being targeted by **** cops. Those cops people are supposed to trust. To keep us safe. How do tell a black kid the police will protect you?
This is the problem and people are quick to blame those who have no power.
Why are we looking to the powerless to create a solution?

Riots in LA today too. Any excuse to get free ****. Because everyone knows that if random people can get free **** it makes all the bad cops go away.
Yikes.
