Playoffs!

I just don't want to play them because they have 2 of my least favorite players on their team.

Harden will get 20 FT's a game against us and make 18. Aside from the scoring itself, 75% of those fouls will be him charging into someone and throwing his arms across there's to generate contact.

It's an unwatchable product when that happens and I'm not replacing any more TV remotes.

It's hard to be excited about the playoffs when the team has played so poorly. Granted they played the Lakers well enough, but they've beat two teams they should beat (by not many points either) and got absolutely crushed by a team that they should be at least equal with.

Some of those turnovers they're committing really makes me not want to watch the team. It's not like they're just the garden variety bad turnover. They are just horrendous, and they happen multiple times a game. If they can get that cleaned up I'll be a lot more interested in the playoffs.

Not that I'm not going to watch every single minute.

The turnovers youre talking about are frustrating, no doubt. But they are literally the same ol, garden variety turnover we’ve seen from every preseason jazz team coached by Snyder. His teams always start slow. And I think that’s because, on offense, they are always hyper-focused on “connectivity” and “chemistry” over crisply taking the first good open shot. You see a maddening number of turnovers produced by extra passes as they hunt for a better shot. Some of this behavior is actually good—it’s indicative of the team coming together—but they need to move through this phase really quickly to have any chance of competing against whoever their playoff opponent is. And, in general, Q needs to move his teams through this better and faster every season.

On defense, we’ve had a years-long habit of starting again at first principles and building up from there. Again, that’s fine to an extent, but it always takes too much time—and it’s likely to do so again in the bubble—where we’ve fielded a team that might just suck at perimeter defense no matter what stage of development we find them in.

Denver is either #1 or #2 in the league in scoring. The Jazz need to figure out a lot of **** on both sides of the ball to have a reasonable chance. I’m most cynical about the defensive side. I just don’t think we have the size or athleticism on the perimeter. And I also think we've shown a noticeable lack of energy and commitment. I have a good football analogy for what I’m seeing that I’ll have to write out another time (the basic part of the analogy is that Q is has communicated the right principles, audibles, and shifts for the defense to make pre-snap, but then we are just getting murdered after the snap).

Andy Larsen gonna steal ^this ****^

I watched some recent game of Rockets, don't remember which one but at some point Harden shot the 3 pointer desperately kicking with his legs like a hanged man at the same moment to draw the foul. He actually kicked the defender in the nuts, that was the only contact, shot went in and he got a free throw..I nearly puked.

We've been absolutely annihilated by the Rockets two straight seasons. I don't think officiating had much to do with it.

There’s all kind of proof of the fact that Harden gets an unprecedented whistle. Like, totally unprecedented. I’ll refrain from saying whether or not I think it’s a just whistle, and just emphasize how unprecedented it is. And this whistle has absolutely everything to do with playing the Rockets. The dynamic between Harden-defender-referees is the most dominate feature of the game. That’s why it’s so ****ing boring to watch them.

There’s a believable scenario where we beat them this year. But I just don’t want to ****ing watch anymore Rockets basketball, so I’m hoping for another matchup.

And getting ahead of OKC and Miami in the draft would be nice as well.

I don't blame Harden at all. He's simply taking advantage of the slack given to him. He'd stop doing it if they didn't call it.

But the NBA wants 130-127 scorefests instead of 91-86 brawls. A more entertaining product they say.

I’m not blaming him either, fwiw. But I don’t honor his craft, either.

Not only he has physical habilities that overpowers most of the league PGs, and nasty handle skills, he's able to convert off balance layups (and that travelling off balance moonwalk step three) while forcing contact that no other player in the league can, which set him apart of everyone else in terms of scoring, and it makes wonder for him and his team on regular season, but when it goes to the bigger stages of playoffs (not just that first round against playoff bound teams), that strategy ain't really effective (cause the refs are good on whistling some Royce O'Neal out of the building for some Durant forcing his back at him on the spin of a turnaround fadeaway, but just won't do the same to a Paul George in a at least 6 game series) as these layups become much more of just of balance shots with huge nerfs on getting fouls and forcing the other team defense to scramble, and he spent a lof of time playing on the regular season strategy to adapt properly for another way of getting his shot and dishes
