Following Potential 2020 draftees

As for Utah trying to select the best raw athletes worthy of the first round with pick 23? If they feel like they can get Jahimus Ramsey in positions to win and to coexist with D. Mitchell, that would be a very fun pairing.

Tyler Bey from Colorado at 6'7" but really explosive and with a great nose for the ball, he could really provide the Jazz with a very different look and massive shot of energy... He's only 6'7" but figures to be a bit of an enforcer vs smallball looks and is an elite rebounder for his size.

Robert Woodard III deserves mention. He's heavy/strong and still can jump real high.

Also I wouldnt do this(Cuz I'd take Robert Woodard) but Cassius Stanley out of Duke is in the mid-40's vertical leap range, and he's really acrobatic and makes for a monstrous lob target, and has been that for many many years, I wouldnt take him at #23 because his offense is kinda gimmicky and hes got very average length, but still I dont think it'd be worse than lets say taking Grayson Allen #23..

Ramsey
Tyler Bey
Woodard

All 3 I've also targeted in my analysis as well. I'd feel great about any of them. Tyler Bey is anywhere from the low teens to the 30's on various Mock Drafts/Big Boards. I really hope he falls to 23.

The Kahlil Whitney kid is intriguing as well.

Say we make moves this offseason and end up top 5 or 10. Assume the new direction of the team is that Mitchell is the centerpiece and everything is built around him.

Who do you want most at that range?

Obi/Don backcourt growing together would be fun. But maybe we just go Okuro or Okungwu.

I say swing for the fences and go with Killian Hayes. If that pick is a hit their off the hook for the Conley blunder. The thing is, the price of moving up that high is probably way beyond what Utah is willing to give up.

With the Summer and the Draft being staggered this year, sometime soon i'll do one last big bump for the 2022, 2023 and 2024 threads then leave them be til next season.

I'll chime in plenty on the 2020 thread but I really want to get the 2021 one in proper order before things get moving.. With the G-League getting involved there's gonna be more moving parts to track than ever.

Yeah, I think it's just a bad draft for top end talent. But I do like him a good deal.
He's obviously got a ton of talent. But there are so many red flags with the guy. Not even the same level of prospect as his brother was and Lonzo has been very underwhelming.

Surprised and intrigued that he is your top guy. Hope he works out.

Agreed, I'd put him a whole step below Lonzo.

Sam Vecenie of The Athletic has a new draft based on what he's hearing from front offices. Let me know if there are any players you are interested in where they are on this board.

Top 5:
1. Minn - LaMelo Ball (Minn looking to either move the pick, or move the player eventually if they can't move the pick before the draft)
2. GSW - Anthony Edwards (Lots of smokescreens from GSW saying they like a new player seemingly every day. Also wants to move pick)
3. Charlotte - James Wiseman (Might take an older prospects with more accolades based on their past, but heard early they like Wiseman a lot)
4. Chicago - Deni Avdija
5. Cleveland - Obi Toppin (Heard Avdija and Toppin to Cleveland the most)

Here's his blurb on the Jazz

23. Utah Jazz
Josh Green | 6-6 wing | 19 years old, freshman | Arizona

The Jazz certainly want a wing, but there aren’t a ton of them in this area of the draft unless they’re willing to reach for an older guy like Elijah Hughes or Desmond Bane. And honestly, I’m not totally convinced that such a pick would be a reach, given that I have both ranked ahead of Green on my personal board. But in general, across the league, Green is seen in higher standing than those guys. I also wouldn’t rule out a big man like Daniel Oturu, Zeke Nnaji or Xavier Tillman here.

And players near the Jazz's pick.

19. Brooklyn - Cole Anthony
20. Miami - Tre Jones
21. Philly - RJ Hampton
22. Denver - Isaiah Stewart
24. Milwaukee - Theo Maledon
25. OKC - Jaden McDaniels

LaMelo is WAY better than Lonzo...

Trust me on this one it's not even close. Especially at the NBA level.

True Story; When I first posted about LaMelo here, he was no taller than 5'9"(and he was out there getting buckets with his 6'5" brothers confidently)...

That Sam Veccine description on Utah's pick in the mock is preposterous. He's got Elijah Hughes and Desmond Bane over Josh Green?!
