Elijah Millsap: Lindsey in exit interview: “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black *** and send you back to Louisiana”.

Good article on Jazz and race relations.

I think it's pretty clear DL is overall good dude. Hopefully he didnt have an unprofessional slip and didnt lie/forget about it.
No calling random people white supremacists today acting like a bigot while lecturing others about simply being a decent human?

It's incredible that a thread about racism will bring out the dregs of JFC who never post only to come out and do all they can to discredit a black person, but having a historic season won't.

Makes you question things.

*this isnt aimed at everyone, but it's aimed at most*

I called you a racist apologist, not a racist. You seem to have little to no understanding of these things so I'm not going to bother with low IQ/low empathy individuals in this thread anymore.

When I read DL's background, where he came from, who he has become, and then compared it with the comments by his peers and even by Elijah himself, it almost feels like Elijah heard something that wasn't said. It was pretty far out of character for DL based on his life experience.

I am not saying that this happened but... for example. My ears are just fine but sometimes I am a bit DEEF. My wife calls me "NOT THE LYRIC'S KING" because I am convinced that songs say something that they don't. For a decade I sang "Let me go home, like a GLISTER in the Sun". I think I even put Glister in a paper at school when trying to describe a shining object. Later when my wife mocked me for it I decided to show her so I looked it up. When I saw I was dead wrong and that there is no such thing as a GLISTER, I copied and pasted the lyrics to microsoft word, changed the lyrics, printed it out, and showed her. Yeah, I felt dumb but we laugh about it to this day. I think I heard that song hundreds of times and yet I was convinced of what I heard.

Point is, this doesn't match DLs anti-racist history. If it happened, I think he has done more to create a culture of anti-racism around the Jazz and to condemn these things when they happened in the past than most of us have done from our keyboards.

I'm try to be as anti-racist as I can, and I'm always trying to learn, but I'm sure I've said racist things before. Being anti-racist and coming from a diverse background doesnt give you immunity from ever saying the wrong thing. It certainly buys you goodwill and people will be more willing to forgive transgressions, but it doesnt make you immune to doing them.

I will also add the NBA has a huge FO/Coaching staff problem where the overwhelming majority of people in positions of power are white in an overwhelming black league, which gives the *alleged* statement more weight.

Yeah that's just as terrible but you know, being a terrible bigoted human by definition is only ok when you do it. Fighting that good fight like the hypocrite you are.

Yeah, finding proof a sound waves from 6 years ago was always going to be an uphill battle TBPFHWY.
There's still an independent investigation going on so if what Elijah claims is true I think other players will come out and hopefully have anonymity.

The more Millsap says about this the less I believe him. He is now coming across more like a bitter girlfriend. Now he is claiming that the jazz were bad mouthing him to other teams and that is why he didn't last in the nba. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with him being so bad offensively that he is completely unplayable. That wouldn't make any sense.

Can you provide a link please? Appreciate it. I've looked at this twitter account and found nothing.

"Millsap appeared in only two more NBA games after the Jazz waived him, and said he believes the team has not spoken well of him when other teams asked about his background. He said he still works out for several hours a day and would like to resume his playing career."

I think he comes off terrible in the article. Talking about freeing himself from the torture like was abused and then says he's not calling Lindsey racist but that is exactly what he is saying. Then of course he follows it up with basically saying that the jazz front office helped to black ball him from the league.
