Trade deadline discussion

Ummmm having Danny would have also had us beating Denver. Remember when Jamal Murray went human torch? Danny would have been really ****ing useful.

You can't leave Danny open either. His career % is slightly better than Bojan's on a similar amount of attempts.
Danny Green wouldnt have done much. He isn't a lockdown defender like that on those types of players.

True. Danny helps us beat Denver.

I just think Bogey brings more to the table. And Bogey has proven in the past to be a really tough playoff competitor. Danny has too, but Danny is a good defender and one trick pony on offense.

If Conley gets limited by a smaller defender like he did last year in the final 3 games and Joe is blanketed by an opposing defender, Don has to do it all. Danny Green and Royce would just be roaming the perimeter. Rudy setting screens and hoping for a lob.

I think Bojan will be very important in making our offense easier come playoff time. When offense is easier, defense becomes easier. We cannot expect Donovan to carry that much of an offensive load. It's just not realistic.

So from what I'm seeing on twitter, apparently Woj was on tv earlier today and mentioned the Nets and Jazz as possible landing spots for JJ Redick.

He was the primary defender in their playoff series and Jamal's numbers were much worse... so I'm guessing he would have helped just enough for us to win that series which was very close. Bojan likely has us winning too, but Danny was really important to the team that won the championship two years in a row.

weird... why come here... we don't have enough small guards?

Maybe he just wants to be close to his dad (Joseph Horwath Ingles)?

Just dont think he fits the strength of the team. Jazz strength is they got a lot of dudes who can shoot and put the ball on the floor. Bogey with his size is a pretty big part of that. If he's on he's a super tough mismatch for the other team to deal with.

It's not like Bogey has been bad all year. Hell he was pretty good in February. He averaged 16 points on 47/39 splits. March has just been really rough on him. Hopefully it's just the road heavy schedule getting to him and he evens out once the Jazz get some home games in.
I agree... he likely returns to form... I just don't see the differentiators on offense between what he brings and what Danny brings on defense as super meaningful. Bogey drives us all crazy when he puts the ball on the floor. He isn't a good passer so I think teams will be able to know what he is doing... scouting in the playoffs gets much more focused.

Not sure there is a team that he will give us a mismatch against... Is he a matchup problem for either LA team? Phoenix? Denver potentially is the best case but we can score on those guys just fine.

I think the argument for Bogey is - If DM and Mike get locked up then you will want Bogey.

If those guys get locked up and can't be all-stars in the playoffs then we are ****ed... cuz Bogey ain't getting us a title.

Danny and Royce isn't ideal on the perimeter but I think it replaces the worst defensive player in that unit with a great defensive player. The most important offensive use for Bojan is shooting... Danny does that too.

It won't happen but I just think its an interesting thought exercise. Appreciate the thoughts folks are offering.

Yeah, I'm not seeing how he impacts the rotation. Though like Danny Green (who I really like; he just plays winning ball; just not sure I'd do it at the expense of Bogey, and I don't think Philly would go there either, given their success with Green) I guess you can't have too many well-tested veterans when you're trying to make a playoff run.

Green would only be an option if sixers do the Lowry trade and Toronto wants to spin off Green. I don't think they would even do it... would likely be looking for something different.

If we get Redick in the buyout market, Bogey becomes a little more available in my book. Not that Redick can play PF, but he can replace some of the shooting in lineups where Royce and Ingles are with Bogey.

Signing Redick and trading Bogey for Green doesn't make much sense though.

Those would happen in reverse order, though. Once you know you can sign Redick, the deadline has passed.

Move for guys like Ersan and JJ basically means we are just going for all the shooting in the world without paying much attention to other aspects of the game.

So quite a few names being bandied about at the trade deadline, including:
- Kyle Lowry

- Lonzo Ball
- Victor Oladipo
- Aaron Gordon
- Norm Powell
- Andre Drummond
- Lauri Markkanen
- Marvin Bagley
- Kelly Oubre
- George Hill
- Javale McGee
- Pacers have also been willing to discuss Myles Turner.

I'd keep an eye for THJ from Dallas. A solid rotation piece in his own right but the nature of his contract means he could be a part of the package in any trade involving the names that you mention.

According to the national media, each and every one of those players will be traded to the Lakers.
