Coronavirus

The vaccine also screwed with my taste and smell. After the first dose, everything had a taste and smell of ammonia mixed with vinegar. Everything. It’s gradually changed. Now it’s only certain foods. I’ve noticed hot (freshly cooked) greasy foods are pretty bad. Most sweets are ok, but I had some M&Ms today that tasted like garbage. Peanut butter is no good. Bologna is ok, but not on a sandwich. Wheaties are no bueno, but Wheat Chex are good to go. It’s freaking weird and it sucks.

So here I am, something like 7 weeks post 2nd dose, and the horrible taste is still here. It’s getting better, but still here. I finally narrowed down what the taste is...electrical fire. I did a little presentation at my kids school yesterday about electricity and how it’s made, how it works, how to be safe, what it looks like to be an electrician, etc. As part of the presentation, I stick live wires into a hot dog to “cook” it (it makes a sizzle and you can see sparks in it). The smell coming off that hot dog was exactly what I’ve been tasting for two months.

Hope it keeps getting better. Sounds terrible.

I wonder if your occupation has anything to do with the side effects. That seems unlikely, though.

I don't have any personal friends who have had any issues with the vaccine but my sister got Covid and now permanently smells pine cones everywhere. There are no other long lasting oddities, and her husband also got over it in about a week with no lasting effects, but for my sister there are always pine cones. She's even had the vaccine since then but it didn't stop the pine cones. It is an odd bug I'll be happy to see behind us.

Better to smell pine cones than a bazillion other things on this planet.

I will pal And don't appreciate your smug condescending attitude.

Thats big of you...

How's lockdown IV treating you? I'm loving being stuck at home during my first holiday in years. Mind you im skint as **** so at least i can't spend money. My mail is prepare for an extension to at least Monday next week. Its killing me, two weeks of lost trading for the bar will bleed us to death.
