Coronavirus

I think that's an excuse that anti-vaxxers fall back on; an excuse with no reason, no warrant, just pure fear-mongering.

I think that's an excuse that anti-vaxxers fall back on; an excuse with no reason, no warrant, just pure fear-mongering. The reason we need two injections in the first place is because the mRNA breaks down before a full immune response can be generated after one shot. The only persistent effect is antibody readiness.

You’ve missed the point. And I am pro vaccine but I’m going to choose one with the vector method not an mRNA one. It’s not fearmongering to say there hasn’t been a long term study on any possible long term side effects because .. well .. there hasn’t been.

Repeat read “long term”. take it in. Not short term.

fair response. However i would ask those who use this reason to not get vaccinated if they research everything that they put into their bodies to make sure that long term testing has been done or if its just vaccines that they have this requirement for.

Same. I think most people go to the doctor and whatever they write a prescription for they take. I know that's not everyone, and I'm going to get a whole bunch of "I research everything I put in my body" responses even when that's not true.

yup agreed The amount of patients i see who have no earthly idea of what drugs they're on or what they're for is nuts

I got my microchip implant separate from my first vaccine dose. Didn't everyone?

It's fear mongering when you use it as a reason to not vaccinate, but since you are merely getting a different vaccine, you do you.

I doubled up on microchips. If I fall down a well I want Bill Gates to be able to rescue me.
Now when I make a mistake I can say Bill Gates made me do it.

For those concerned, mRNA vaccines have been tested in many forms going on a decade now, and there have been no reported side effects.

I honestly would have more concerns being injected with a modified monkey virus rather than a specific mRNA that triggers a response only to Covid-19's spike protein and nothing else and breaks down fairly fast.

All the vaccines are emergency authorized at this point. If you have concerns do some research and decide for yourself.

Covid side effects are much riskier than any of the U.S. approved vaccines.

The vaccine also screwed with my taste and smell. After the first dose, everything had a taste and smell of ammonia mixed with vinegar. Everything. It’s gradually changed. Now it’s only certain foods. I’ve noticed hot (freshly cooked) greasy foods are pretty bad. Most sweets are ok, but I had some M&Ms today that tasted like garbage. Peanut butter is no good. Bologna is ok, but not on a sandwich. Wheaties are no bueno, but Wheat Chex are good to go. It’s freaking weird and it sucks.

So here I am, something like 7 weeks post 2nd dose, and the horrible taste is still here. It’s getting better, but still here. I finally narrowed down what the taste is...electrical fire. I did a little presentation at my kids school yesterday about electricity and how it’s made, how it works, how to be safe, what it looks like to be an electrician, etc. As part of the presentation, I stick live wires into a hot dog to “cook” it (it makes a sizzle and you can see sparks in it). The smell coming off that hot dog was exactly what I’ve been tasting for two months.

Hope it keeps getting better. Sounds terrible.

I wonder if your occupation has anything to do with the side effects. That seems unlikely, though.

I don't have any personal friends who have had any issues with the vaccine but my sister got Covid and now permanently smells pine cones everywhere. There are no other long lasting oddities, and her husband also got over it in about a week with no lasting effects, but for my sister there are always pine cones. She's even had the vaccine since then but it didn't stop the pine cones. It is an odd bug I'll be happy to see behind us.

Better to smell pine cones than a bazillion other things on this planet.
