Joe Ingles will sign for and in behalf of Dante Exum, who is ded. As it will be done in proxy, Dante will have the opportunity of whether or not to accept it.Ded people can't sign contracts.
yeah wasn't sure if i misunderstood it but i heard Andrew Bogut insinuate such on a podcast last week, he'd heard things both from Dante's camp and some contacts of his in Utah that Jazz are still worried about their perimeter D and lack of size defensively. Maybe a Mudiay type scenario, non guarenteed.
The Jazz do lack size and especially athleticism on the perimeter. Rudy Gay will help at the 4, but we're soft at the wing, and neither Hughes nor Oni are reliable.
I think at this point all of the Exum hype train has (or at least should be) humbled enough to not have baggage. I’d prefer Dunn, obviously, but if they’re concerned about bringing in too many guys who could be disgruntled about minutes, then Exum would make a lot of sense because he would know he wouldn’t be getting regular minutes. Dunn is far better overall, but Dante has the advantage on that latter issue if that’s what they’d prioritize. If he doesn’t bring baggage or drama, can hit a wide-open corner 3 at 35% or higher, and can play up to SF then sure.
Being a deep bench player is honestly kinda perfect for him. But I generally lean toward his having too much baggage at a minimum and would rather not.
Maybe Cleveland wants to sign him.
