My goodness thats horrible. Worse than what im going through imo. So frustrating to be fighting for someone who wont fight for themselves. Can really piss a person off to be honest. I had a best friend who was addicted to pills and I would make him go to clinics and get help and it never made any difference. He would lie to me and steal from me and eventually it got to a point that I had to cut him out of my life which broke my heart but it had to be done. I had a life to live and couldn't move on with his addiction ****ing up my life. That sounds rough. My heavy stuff is not too different from yours, except it is my brother-in-law. He's retired military with PTSD and alcohol addiction on the level of Nicholas Case in second half of Leaving Las Vegas, except that he's in my guest bedroom. He's not battling addiction because that would indicate some sort of resistance. I'm watching him kill himself and I'm running out of ideas to slow things down. My wife has contacted a group of former military who help in situations like this and they're willing to do what they can but my brother-in-law has no interest. He doesn't want help.
Addiction is horrible and ugly and devastating. I wish you the best though it doesn't sound very hopeful for you. So sorry. At least my dad wants help.
