Yeah, Hayward didn't have a great game. Oh well. BUT if you look at the stat sheet for the other high profile picks, a lot of them didn't do so well either. Favors had 4 points, Turner was around 1 for 7 shooting. George had been shooting less than 40% coming into this game. None of the rookies, from my quick scan, are really playing consistently good ball (I may have overlooked some). So if one's going to use this one game as a reason to doubt Hayward pick, then Turner and Favors are looking mighty bad too--worse even since they were taken much higher.
It's fun to speculate based on this, but deep down inside this should be tempered by realization that this probably doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot.
I liked Kofous' state line, but not the 4 fouls.
