Eric Paschall is not who I thought he was

Please show me the winning coach who makes sets and wrinkles for their 12th man.
I was referencing Paschall because this thread is about him, but many coaches put in wrinkles for what they have on the court.

It's more the idea that when a team is playing effective against our standard sets, we have some other sets available for our backup units to try and cause some disruption.

Gay provides a lot of interior height we were missing, but Paschall may provide a toughness that would be good to fit on the court.

Paschall needs to figure out what he's trying to be. Either model his game after Jae Crowder the enforcer, or polish his offense like the Morris twins. He's suffering the tweener syndrome right now.

I’d like to think about things more in terms of developing different looks, not how many players it takes to play those different looks.

If Whiteside sits, then Paschall could suddenly be in the 8-man rotation.

And if we’re forced to go small, then we need to be able to adjust. Obvi.

I get that Paschall has limitations and would make our team worse over long stretches vs anyone he would replace. I personally find him entertaining to watch and think he could provide something different that in short stretches would at least make the opposing team have to adjust.

Paschall looks like our most engaged player some nights. He brings a totally different look, energy, and unique set of skills.

For me, situational he should start against some matchups and not play against others.

We need to be logging those situations now so we are competent on the when and how come the playoffs.

Paschal is better than Royce and it's not even close. In pretty much every aspect of the game.
Uhh, Royce is an infinitely better shoot and rebounder.

Paschall is a better scorer and maybe a better man defender, but I'm not ready to say that until he starts guarding stars 24/7 like Royce.

Paschall is definitely interesting. I just dont know how useful he is with a true center in the game (becomes way too relegated to spot up 3pt shooting). When the floor is spaced he's a very effective slasher, but he isnt a good enough rebounder to play the 5 and the rest of the Jazz team is *** at switching so we can't do that effectively.
