Both these guys were mid first round draft picks. They both have talent.Only game he’s got more than 15 mins in and he plays great. Coincidence? I think not.

He showed that he has some promise in a completely different role than he has ever been in before. He has to be able to do that consistently before taking a victory lap. But congratulations, at least for me he's gone from a non rotation player, to a guy who might have something there.Only game he’s got more than 15 mins in and he plays great. Coincidence? Locke had some interesting thoughts on Juancho as a good rebounder who can hit the corner 3 (historically, not this year), and how he might fit in the end of quarter/beginning of quarter lineup. It was towards the end of the podcast today.
Right, I'm not necessarily convinced, but it was interesting. I'm not out on Rudy Gay yet, but I'm getting close. So basically, how he would fit in place of Rudy Gay? With how poor Gay has been, I'd be all for giving it a try...I don't think Quin will do it though. I really wish Juancho was the one we had signed for the next two seasons and Gay was the one who's contract was non-guaranteed after this season. I'd like to see what Juancho could do in our system after some development by Quin and the rest of the coaching staff.
It’s an idea I’m comfortable with. He can come in and play Bojan’s role. Obviously less scoring and mostly just spot up, but that’s what we want from Bojan anyway. What he loses there he makes up with some rebounding. I think it’s a more seemless transition if you’re looking to run everything as similar as possible and not give different looks (which is what Quin tends to like). So basically, how he would fit in place of Rudy Gay? I didn’t see the last game but the eye test in garbage time makes me feel as though he has more upside than either old Gay or Paschall. Probably need to see more to make a proper comparison between him and Paschall though.Locke had some interesting thoughts on Juancho as a good rebounder who can hit the corner 3 (historically, not this year), and how he might fit in the end of quarter/beginning of quarter lineup. I still think Gay getting his legs back has the highest upside, although as I've said my hope in that happening is quickly diminishing. Paschall has more upside as an overall player, but Juancho brings more length and rebounding which are sorely needed in many of our lineups. I'm honestly not sure what Juancho's upside is as a shooter. His shot has looked pretty bad for us so far. Looking at his 3P% over his career it has kind of been all over the place. He's a career 34% shooter on 668 total attempts, so that's probably what we should expect.I didn’t see the last game but the eye test in garbage time makes me feel as though he has more upside than either old Gay or Paschall. Agreed. Though I also agree with SoberasHotRod that Gay playing up to his past ability is the best case scenario. I just dont think its ever going to happen at this point. The Rudy Gay that many of us thought we were getting was exactly what this team needed. To bad it didn't work out.I'm very much Paschall > Gay....and at this point I think it's worth trying Juancho > Gay. Gay looks completely cooked.
