HC candidates

Jazz should be more proactive and muzzle in on Charlotte’s action IMO. For Jordan It’s down to two basketball savants in Kenny Atkinson and Mike D’Antoni. I think our position is infinitely more attractive -more staying power and you don’t have perhaps the world’s biggest Sport’s Legend breathing down your neck.

I’d forgotten that Atkinson had worked on D’Antoni’s Knicks bench from 2008-2012. He also has a world of respect for him as a pioneer that helped to usher in positionless basketball apparently.
I had no idea Pelé owns the Hornets.

Back from his playing days, I just remember nothing special from him in the talent and athletic department, but he understood the game more than most always played within the offense, and still managed 15-18 a game his senior year, and was efficient. He always out thought his opponent.

I see him in the same mold as a coach, he’s going to out coach the other coach and put his players in the best possible position to succeed IMO

I’m not saying he’s for sure going to be a top 5 coach in this league but he has it in him. There’s not many on his level upstairs imo of course. If the jazz hire one of these retreads I will be pissed.
As somebody that missed out on seeing his play at the U, that’s really good to hear. Not sure a retread with a winning record would be worse than him being beat out by another support staff player from another program without the player rapport and proven ability. As you say, Jensen has paid his dues and deserves a shot!

I’m not going to pretend like I know who’s good and who isn’t, especially when most of the candidates are assistant coaches. I’m just gonna blindly support whoever gets the job.
Ya me too.

I heard we are adding Corey Maggette to the interview list... I also heard that Rony Seikly is interviewing for the in arena DJ position as well.
Dont forget about that dude from overseas that was going to be joining the jazz for like 5 years in a row.

I remember at one of my ad agency jobs, I hadn't done laundry for a while and I didn't have any clean shirts. So I had to wear a formal white shirt to work. One of my bosses thought I must have a job interview lined up and offered me a 20% raise on the spot.

Moral of the story: don't do laundry in a timely manner.

Yeah, that's me too.

Good point Homey. Ryan Smith and his damn Mormon pipeline (Holly Rowe now moonlighting at ESPN). I don’t know which is worse, racial or religious discrimination.o_O
Yeah, I'm convinced with all the Mormons he's brought in already they are going to get a Mormon coach. I'm sure we'll pick up Jabari Parker and market his comeback. The yellow jerseys are a part of the name change to Mormon worker/mountain/honey beezzzz.

This new owner represents the cringe factor of Utah Mormons very well.

I'd say that my most ideal outcome is:
Johnnie Bryant at HC
Retain Alex Jensen as an assistant
Hire one of Stotts/Vogel as an assistant
Potentially hire Jason Terry as an assistant

Bryant seems like the ideal candidate as a guy who has experience with most of our core players. Also helps that he was under Quin when we transformed our offense from being middle of the pack to one of the elite groups in the NBA. I also love that he has had a couple of years to coach under Thibs who is arguably the best defensive coach in the league.

Jensen is a current assistant that coached with Bryant for like 6 years here and has been on the staff so he can help bridge the gap.

Would prefer Vogel but Stotts seems more realistic but it'd be nice to have an assistant coach that has a ton of head coaching experience if we do go with a young coach.
