I was surprised when we signed him to an offer sheet because I viewed him as a high-volume, low efficiency chucker and always convinced myself that we did it because we knew Atlanta would match and we wanted to boost of being able to say we’re getting guys to want to sign here.
 
I think most people had 3 of those 4 in their top choices list.

For me it was always Jensen, Bryant and Griffin and then after that it was hard cause it was people I didn't know or re-treads and I didn't want a re-tread (Stotts and Vogel and hell no to D'Antoni)

It will probably be Bryant and the weak list or rather being the finalist with coaches that haven't gotten much media presence is simply to ease him into the role.

Bryant has proven himself as an amazing skill development coach but I don't feel he paid his dues yet. There are assistant coaches that have been in the interviewing process much longer.

He could be great, too. There isn't really a way to guess how things will turnout with first-time coaches.
 
With all the candidates being would-be 1st time head coaches, I don't even know how to evaluate who is the best option? I think I will just go with the flow and reserve more serious judgement for after I've seen the team play some time.
 
I think Jensen ought to be the choice but I don't think he will get the job. The guy has ties to Rick Majeres both as a player and an assistant coach, he developed Gobert with the Jazz and Willie Reed when he was a college assistant coach and has been the coach of the year in the GLeague. If he were going to be hired he would have by now.

Yeah it is... you think they just threw all the balance beams out when DL left? Nah we gonna put that **** to good use.

This is all a dog and pony show. It will be Bryant. It is good to get as many people in as possible... but unless Johnnie does something dumb in interviews he getting the job.
