Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Kevin O'Connor said that we're shopping Royce for a 1st.
My super meh hot take is that we don't move any of the guys we are currently discussing and we trade Royce because he's the easiest fit just about anywhere. We get a reduction in salary and either a late first or very early second. We duck the tax and now Rudy is pissed we put his name out there more than @Hearsky 's mom on a friday night.

How bad will the fireworks be with jazz fans when NO deals get done and we walk into next season with the current roster other than training camp wanna be's? Haha

That first part is exactly what I'm talking about. It's so easy to talk yourself into a certain player, I do it all the time myself which is why I'm cautious. I don't think it's necessarily incorrect to evaluate each pick on a case by case basis, but I think we give too much consideration to the guy we think we're getting and not enough consideration to the historical outcomes of each. Ivey may be a top 5 pick in any year, but like I said top 5 pick isn't what we all hope for. It's an instagram vs reality situation.

I don't disagree with your ranking of the order, but I think most people would have Davion second. That's why my initial instinct was to say I'd rather take what the Knicks have to offer. Young player a team just drafted who they love is one of the hardest types of players to acquire, and that's who Davion is. That reputation far exceeds what I think of him. You've talked about how you could just trade the Kings package into the Knicks package, but what if you do it the other direction? I think if these two teams were trading and the Jazz were out of it Davion would carry too much value. I'm not a huge fan of the distant firsts, but whatever amount of picks Davion amounts to in a trade I'd take the picks instead. I like Quickley+Toppin a lot more than Mitchell, and I think the duo would cost lest than Davion in a trade. Ivey, Quickley, Toppin, and whatever is left over is better than what you're getting from the Kings trade imo.
What does Sacramento have to offer on top of the package outlined to go from HORRID to fair?

Like I said yesterday I would deal Royce for cash considerations let alone a 2nd round pick let alone a ****ing 1st. That would be incredible.
I also saw someone say we were discussing a Royce/Bojan/Future 1sts for Barnes/#4 FWIW but I think that was fake.

I would remove Davion, and instead include distant firsts. A big part of the allure of the Knicks package, which I don't love myself, is that you have the Knicks future for a considerable amount of time. In this Kings trade, you're only going to 2023.

I also think you are discounting Davion for putting up big numbers on a ****** team when they had players missing... Quickley and Toppin in particular essentially did the same thing. The +/- stuff gets really interesting with them... I agree there, but +/- differences can get weird on bad teams. I love Kenny Hustle and Muscala, but if you think their +/- stuff is completely real they are both like high-level starters and I think they are more like good rotation players.
