Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

I'm 1/4 Ashkenazi Jewish with distant relatives who emigrated from Latvia/Lithuania to escape persecution in the early 20th century. I don't have a problem with views like this being expressed, and I don't insist that they be censored. The controversy stems from tribes of people from the Caucasus Mountains region who were Turkic and later mixed European/Turkic and who migrated from the Middle East through Eastern Europe during the early Roman Empire. These people converted to Judaism, but were not direct descendants of the original Hebrews. A faction of this group were known as Khazars. They were largely merchants and traders between Europe and Eurasia. They became Jewish, in name at least, via conversion. This may account for at least some significant percentage of modern white or European Jews, and they are largely distinguishable by their genetics.

Discussing these things and the history surrounding shouldn't be construed as 'anti-semitism' in my opinion. I have no idea what movie Kyrie is talking about. I haven't tuned in to what he's saying.
Thank you for this interesting information. That certainly is something that can be discussed without being considered anti-semitism. The movie in question is about something different however. And if the makers feel the need to rely on an ‘Adolph’ Hitler quote, a fake one at that, about Jews and world domination I’m out. I’ll leave it at that and get back to discussing basketball.

So it looks like the Sixers will be too deep & well coached & stacked to be bad this year, I think that pick is gonna land around 22-25th if I'm honest.

The one to root for for me is the T'Wolves one. I think there are too many pieces that might not gel together. DLo, Ant, KAT, Gobert.. are they too different to be a team personality wise?

T'wolves could end up a play-in team if they don't start clicking soon.

They got the talent I give them that, but they all seem really young and I think they need a mature leader who takes the bull by the horn and pull that team together. They have a vet in Gobert but he's the new guy, not sure he could be that 'leader'.

Bad night for jazz draft picks. Sixers win without embiid playing. Nets win. Jazz win. All the tanking teams lost.

Minnesota plays Phoenix x2, Milwaukee, Memphis, Cleveland and Philadelphia in 6 out of their next 9 games.

Would not be surprised at all to see them be 8-8 or 7-9 through 16 games.

If that happens, there’s a decent chance that their disfunction will become even more pronounced.

It's way too early to call anything. Right now the NBA is looking super balanced. The play in and the 4th seed might only be separated by 3 or 4 games.
Injuries almost always factor in when a team that is consensus playoff team falls into the lotto... if Minny or Philly see a serious injury they fall to play in status hopefully.

Brooklyn is a dumpster fire. Kyrie can't stay out of his own way. KD is an amazing hooper with the worst judgement in friends... he won't stay engaged. Ben Simmons after being disappointing to start is now out with a strange knee injury. Very easily could spread to mental health again. When KD checks out mentally they will be awful. Can't believe Tsai thought they could figure it out with Ky still around. Should have done the lakers pick deal and just tried to figure **** out. Or just burn it to the ground and move KD too... but there was zero way KD would figure **** out with clown show Kyrie around.

An injury might actually help the Wolves tbh.

Steve Nash just canned in Brooklyn. Jacque Vaughn is your new coach.

Wow.
I loved Jacque Vaughn. One of my all time jazz favorites. Dude was so tough for his size. I loved when opponents would try to post him up and back him down. Not happening.
