More Republicans try and kill Democrats

Not only the big whiff on the laptop having info to bring down the entire Biden empire, but Joe claimed that the laptop was covered up by the media.

Uhh, is that what we're calling it when the mainstream media reports what they know, which is that there are unconfirmed claims about the existence of a laptop that belonged to Hunter Biden and that info regarding it has only been provided to one news outlet? Those were the facts at the time. Reputable news outlets don't report information they can't confirm. They reported what was known to them.

I knew all about the laptop leading up to the election. I knew all info that had been released and I knew about all the unfounded claims that the info was severely damaging to Joe Biden himself. What turned out to be true is that the laptop existed and that if contained the political equivalent of a wet fart that didn't really have much relevance to Joe Biden at all and mostly just showed that Hunter Biden is a troubled person with a drug problem and some tax debt.

Whew. Bombshell. Joe Bags was telling us the whole time and WE. JUST. WOULDN'T. LISTEN!!!

Oh no. Hunter Biden is a chad who likes cocaine and ****ing. We hate him because he's fun.

Oh no. Hunter Biden is a chad who likes cocaine and ****ing. We hate him because he's fun.
He actually seems kind of like a sad sack to me. I don't know if people forget but Joe Biden lost his golden child, Beau Biden, who I am pretty sure was being groomed to be Joe's successor and even after he died no one looked at Hunter and said, well you'll do. So he's been the dark horse in that family for forever, lost his brother and didn't even move up in line.

The guy is coping with being the discarded son of the U.S. President with hookers and blow, not paying his taxes and lying on firearms background checks. For some reason the MAGA-verse thinks these facts should be the downfall of Joe Biden. They even mocked a heartfelt call from Joe Biden to Hunter that got leaked where you can basically just hear a heartbroken father begging his troubled son to reach out. That was some pretty low behavior even for a crowd that prides itself on acting like nasty little children.

Ex president Trump joins in on the spin:

“Wow, it’s — weird things going on in that household in the last couple of weeks. Probably, you and I are better off not talking about it. The glass it seems was broken from the inside to the out so it wasn’t a break in, it was a break out. I don’t know, you hear the same things I do,” Trump said.

“It’s a lot of bad stuff and I’m not a fan of Nancy Pelosi, but what’s going on there is very sad,” Trump continued. “The whole thing is crazy, and if there’s even a little bit of truth to what’s being said. The window was broken in and it was strange the cops were standing there practically from the moment it all took place. So, you’re going to have to explain that to your audience, including me.”

So, the glass was broken from the inside? No, it wasn’t. Not according to the Washington Post. And not, remarkably, according to the Capital police:

“Inside the command center for the U.S. Capitol Police, a handful of officers were going through their routines early Friday morning, cycling through live feeds from the department’s 1,800 cameras used to monitor the nearby Capitol complex as well as some points beyond, when an officer stopped. On a screen showing a darkened street nearly 3,000 miles away, police lights were flashing outside the home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), officials say.

The officer in D.C. quickly pulled up additional camera angles from around Pelosi’s home and began to backtrack, watching recordings from the minutes before San Francisco police arrived. There, on camera, was a man with a hammer, breaking a glass panel and entering the speaker’s home, according to three people familiar with how Capitol Police learned of the break-in and who have been briefed on or viewed the video themselves.”

@Archie Moses

At some point in this process you have to ask yourself if you're the bad guy and in this instance your contribution to this topic put you firmly in either the I'm the bad guy camp or in the I'm a dupe camp. Either way, not a good look.

I'm a horrible, terrible person. I don't know how I live with myself.

Like I said, I like that guy's takes when I occasionally see a video. What did he say that was false or lie? From what I remember, he talked about the guy being a hippy and lil about his background. Did he make it up, lie or do something that makes him a bad person?

Like said, I really don't care about spending my time researching it, reading about it, and I take the side of the guy that broke in is probably the bad guy. I really don't know enough to have an opinion or a take and don't care to. I posted that video cause I just randomly watched it and saw this thread. Maybe it would add something to the discussion - nor did I ever advocate, promote or say anything other than I don't know. I don't know, I really didn't put much thought into it.

If it was all made up, lies and misinformation then good, I'm glad people pointed it out and added more to the discussion. The idea that you wanna label me as a bad person, shame me, or imply I did something wrong because of it is a bit of a reach, my man. I would have thought you'd know me a lil better. ‍♂️

I just read up on the attacker. It seems he was a drug addict, with mental illness, delusional, a conspirator and a hateful human being with extreme ideologies.

I'd say, he's motivated by an extreme political bias, far right motivations and acted in an crazy way.

Dude is mentally ill. Like, thinks he's Jesus mentally ill. Mentally ill people like this can be incredibly dangerous and unpredictable.

Here's my take. Mentally ill, deranged, delusional, drug addicted, crazy people do not represent the left or the right. This dude was extreme even for the far right because he's mentally ill.

I wonder if people think he's a fair representation of Republicans (if he is - I didn't read it) more than he is of mental ****ing illness.

You think the guy who broke in and attacked an 82 year old man is PROBABLY the bad guy? The guy who the cops arrested and charges with a list of crimes is PROBABLY the bad guy?
Holy crap man, if someone breaks into a house and attacks an old man with a hammer he is definitely the bad guy. You cant come to that simple and obvious conclusion? Why not?

Then why do you want to spend your time spreading completely unverified misinformation?

Why do you want to be part of the problem? It is damaging our society.

I'm not calling you a horrible person but this type of thing, passing bad info around, helping the lies and the outrage and the sensational beat facts and truth and reason by getting there and getting established into the narrative first, most and loudest.

When I provide a link to something, and don't explicitly that I'm criticizing it, uncertain about it, etc., that's because I think the link is accurate for what it claims to be. I could be wrong or misled, but until then I'll stand behind it. For example, I posted the DNI link earlier today as what I think is an accurate reflection of the DNI position regarding covid19.

I do not understand posting a link, and disavowing any endorsement or willingness to discuss its contents, except as an act of intellectual cowardice or as trolling.

I just worded that the wrong way. Again, I literally didn't know anything about it. I stopped watching and reading the news a few months ago for a while.

Of course I think someone who does that is the bad guy.

This is a good example of why I hardly post anymore. Dudes always out looking to get you, to get angry over something, to say you're a bad person, read into things so much and take what you post to the extreme.

Cool.

What did he say that was horrible misinformation? Did he say something like guy is a hippy and his lifestyle screams Trumper being sarcastic? What did he say that's going to ruin society?

This.

Even if 100% of what he said was confirmed true it wouldn't actually mean anything. His "information" was hollow yet presented as revelatory. I can obviously see what he's suggesting but what he said doesn't mean (even if true) that the unsaid part has any validity.
It's a TikTok video, you know that, right? It's just some guy who shared things about the attacker. I'd hope to God people understand that a take on TikTok isn't a reliable, credible, ground breaking, truths of truths. I'm still not sure what the guy said that was misinformation.

From reading about the guy today, he clearly had bizarre beliefs. Regardless of his views or affiliation with the left or the right, he was mentally ill. Mentally unstable. Koo koo. Crazy. Lights on and no one's home. Losing it. Mentally deranged. Not there in the head.

Again, when I posted the video I knew pretty much nothing about the attack other then headlines I saw online or that video. I didn't have a take, couldn't have one. The video I posted made it seem like people were saying this guy was a Trumper so the Tiktoker pointed out that he was a hippy and things about him. Again, what did he say that's misinformation?

Implying I'm bad or I did something that worsens society because of it somehow tells me that you're more of the problem.

I thought you knew me better. Sigh.

He spoke in the language of disinformation. I suggest becoming fluent in that language so you can identify it.

As I stated he made many statements as though they were revelatory when they were meaningless. Part of this is making definitive statements as if they are clear and well proven facts when that is not the case. He did not make any mention as to how the bold proclamations he made were validated. When you listen to reasoned opinions they will absolutely establish where their information is coming from, they will generally make clear the potential weaknesses in their sources and/or the potential flaws they could be basing their opinions on. When someone does what your tik-toker did in that clip it is absolutely a red flag for me. Very few reliable people state things in such certain terms without providing context regarding how they are so certain. Bold unsubstantiated, uncredited claims are the way misinformation artists speak.

I looked into the backstory of DePape as much as I could in a simple google search and he did NOT live in a commune. He lived outside the house of a former love interest who was a nudist. Now let me say, I'm not 100% confident in this information, this is what I could find in an easy google search. He was essentially homeless spending time in a broken down campervan and sometimes in a broken down school bus, again outside of the house that had BLM and gay pride type stuff displayed. That wasn't his stuff. His former love interest was a female.

So the thing you posted was intended to cast doubt on the official narrative and he did it by, being very generous here, stretching the truth, making false connections, filling in gaps in a way he found most favorable and then presenting it, again, in the language typically used by conspiracy theorists and misinformation artists, which is to say presenting dubious information as if it is clear and established fact.

I'm sorry you find that kind of content valuable. I'm absolutely disgusted that you find it worth your time to inject that information into a discussion while disavowing any responsibility for it and claiming to have no interest at all, no knowledge at all and no concern at all for the truth of the issue being discussed. Spreading this type of information is essential for the disinformation to establish itself before facts and reason can get a foothold. You did the foot soldering of the disinformation movement. It is not good for our society for this to continue and for every issue to be drowned in such meritless assertions to the point that no reasonable discussion can be had.

There was a false concept that much of our democracy was based on. It was called the "community of ideas." It has been proven 100% in the social media era that the community of ideas does not produce the best ideas. Why? Because salacious, sensational, outrage inducing ideas have been absolutely proven in the last several years to absolutely curb-stomp rational, factual and well reasoned arguments. You are acting as an advocate of the former all the while minimizing it and claiming that it doesn't matter, it's just TikTok...

Yes. I know that it is just TikTok. I also know that it is a weapon of disinformation. So maybe be careful where you point that thing?

Imagine getting so worked up about this guy because he said the attacker was a hippy and didn't fit the narrative of a Trumper. Dude is mad about him sharing things about his background of being a hippy and the big lie he said was he didn't live in a commune, but rather, he lived in a bus/van - but isn't sure . No way he's being serious.

GameFace acting like the dude said something so horrible that I'm a disgusting, bad human being.

Dude makes TikTok videos. Again, he's a tiktoker that does hot takes.

Thanks for reminding me not to post anything on politics. People lose their ****ing minds, get so worked up and flex their fake outrage in the name of they're morally better than you.

I hope you come down to earth, dude.

Nah, just thought it was weird that you seemed uclear on whether or not the dude was the bad guy in the situation. Made me think maybe you were one of the many who thought Paul Pelosi deserved the attack because he was sleeping with the attacker or something.

I wasn't referring to you, dude.

I absolutely don't think anyone deserves to be attacked like that. Anyone who says he deserved it is a POS.

We shouldn't have to imagine being angry over an attempt to excuse a violent attack. We should be angry over an attempt to excuse a violent attack.

The video I posted never excused the violent attack and condemned it.

I do not and have not excused the attack.

I read a little bit more of the thread last night and saw the tweets that were posted in this thread and think the ones I read definitely did and are absolutely wrong and bizarre people's political views condone this behavior or brush it under the rug.

I also agree with Thriller that people are being radicalized and politically motivated to be more extreme. I've seen it in this thread.

I do think, from what I read, this guy was mentally ill and crazy. His behavior is not normal. Dude thinks he's Jesus. Mental illness is a problem and should be addressed.

I don't condone threatening a civil war either. People take things too far.

I don't care to post anymore in this thread.
