Super Yachts though. Brilliant counter argument.

Putin Says Communism Comes From the Bible, Compares Lenin to a Saint

"Maybe I am about to say something that some people will not like, but I will say what I think," he says.

"Firstly, faith has always accompanied us. It strengthened when things were hard for our people's country. There have been harsh, godfighting years when clerics were destroyed and churches were ruined. But at the same time (Soviets) created a new religion. Indeed, communist ideology is very similar to Christianity."

Lenin, an atheist who espoused the Marxist view that religion was "the opium of the people," inspired an active campaign to confiscate church property, while his successor, Joseph Stalin, demolished Moscow's biggest cathedral in 1931. In its place he planned a public swimming pool compete with a giant statue of Lenin. Stalin ran out of money for the project but it was later built by Stalin's successor, Nikita Krushchev.

But Putin argues that like Christianity, communism preaches "freedom, brotherhood, equality." He called the Moral Code of the Builder of Communism, a pamphlet of guiding principles for all party members, a "primitive excerpt from the Bible."

Ok. One single post above.

"You know that I, like millions of Soviet citizens, over 20 million, was a member of the Communist Party of the USSR and not only was I a member of the party but I worked for almost 20 years for an organization called the Committee for State Security," Putin said, referring to the KGB.

You haven't made an argument to counter. How about a statement where Putin says Russia is currently a communist state, or has been at any time in the 21st century?
It wouldn't matter if he said it or not. No amount of statements from Putin would make up for the material reality that no form of communist economic organization exists.

Obvious trolling instead of countering again. Lol to think that there are no Super Yachts in any other ideals than Capitalism. I literally laughed out loud.
Ah yes, Marx, as you've clearly read from his various works, is famous for some pretty incredible statements like:

"Workers of the world unite; you have nothing to lose but your chains"

"The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.”

"Heads of state owning multiple super yachts is totally dope. I personally advocate for this."

What's Bernie and his 3 houses up to? Fantastic point and one of your minions thought you were funny lol. There are no super yachts in Marxism. You are a genius dude lolololololololololol.

Incidentally, Marx did not draw a strong distinction between socialism and communism. He implied that communism was a stage beyond that of socialism in The Critique of the Gotha Program, published posthumously in 1891. Lenin and others drew out this distinction in greater detail. In general Marx and Engels used the two terms interchangeably.

Presumably living in them. What's your point? Is there something wrong with him owning three houses? OH wait does Bernie live in a communist country too? now I see. America must be communist, just like you said Russia is.

Super yachts

In the 19th century, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels authored The Communist Manifesto and a number of other books that urged workers to unite and throw off their chains. Both individuals consequently became known as the fathers of communism.

What is less well known is that the fathers of communism also traded on the London Stock Exchange. Marx was a bit of a day trader (to use a contemporary term) and Engels managed a large portfolio of mainly blue-chip stocks for many years.

Let’s start with Marx. In the spring of 1864, he came into some money when an admirer bequeathed £820 to him. This was a considerable sum back then, far more than Marx earned from his writing. No time was wasted on spending the money – the family home was renovated, pets bought for the kids and vacations taken.

He implied that communism was a stage beyond that of socialism in The Critique of the Gotha Program, published posthumously in 1891. Lenin and others drew out this distinction in greater detail. This guy really is just discovering Marxism, in real time, publicly, on a Jazz forum, in a thread about the war in Ukraine.

The internet was a mistake.

The conversation was about Putin and his traits and following Marxism which is just a form of communism. Pay attention. This was only like 20 minutes ago.

Why do you keep repeating this? It's laughable. Russia, a country run by Oligarchs, is about as far from Marxist principles as you could get. I don't know if calling you a troll is accurate, which would indicate some form of insincerity. You're just really really really really really dumb.
I literally just proved you wrong. You called me dumb for being right. See I didn't resort to childish name calling, I provided evidence that proves my side of the story. This is how adults supposed to conversate but you, especially fish, thriller, log, and game are incapable. All you guys do is troll and bully. You are what's wrong with the country. You cannot have a proper discussion without getting angry. Especially fish. I provided articles and evidence, you provide passive aggressive yacht post.

Oh and that a hardcore socialist can have rich people possessions too. It wasn't rocket science. I mean it was pretty damn common sense that I destroyed your "Marxism can't have possessions (yachts)" silliness. Like capitalism is the only ideal that has houses or yachts. It was a terrible point you made that fish thought was brilliant lol.
According to you fish:

It's impossible for a communist to have 3 yachts.

Yets it's completely plausible for an ardent self proclaimed socialist to have 3 houses.

I was slightly mocking both of your ignorance.

@fishonjazz You thought I was brilliant? Dude, thanks man.

That's weird, I don't feel mocked. I do feel like you just unironically started advocating for socialism in this post. I don't disagree that under a socialist organization of the economy that many people could and would benefit and could even possibly enjoy some "rich people possessions" like a house. Bernie might not own 3 but he'd probably have at least 1 too! But, alas, both of the people you mention still live in capitalist countries. Only one of them sits in a position of power strong enough to do something about it for his country yet, last time I checked, Russian workers have yet to take ownership of the means of production.

Off topic but... Where has actual socialism ever worked? Capitalism isn't perfect but it works. I'm all for certain parts of socialism but I sure do love being able to be successful without others help. All it takes is will power and some elbow grease to be successful. I used to be against socialized medicine but I'm coming around to parts of it.

Socialism will never work because the only people that would make it successful and work would have to be capitalist. That's probably sounds stupid but that's a long story and off topic we'll save for a other day.

Whats the definition of 'works' I suppose.

There are countries that have been varying degrees of socialist/communist for various amount of times, some more successful than others (much like capitalism).

The communism we've seen in practice I'd say has largely been most successful in the larger nations at relatively quickly bringing mostly agrarian societies up to speed with the modern world (the USSR prior to collapse and now China).
