I would assume the latter two. DFS/John Collins. Only two real guesses I have from the smoke of us being interested in them.
boring but i can see it. I think with JC we were just as interested as the draft comp we'd get with him

I would only consider the Sixers pick. And for those that are bad at keeping track of time, DFS is already 29 (and we don't have anyone with the chops or the gravity of Luka setting the table for him).

What about the Minnesota pick and KO for DFS and Brooklyn's pick?

Ehh. I'm pretty married to trying to get two of Hendricks/Wallace/Dick/Black (in that order) and that Wolves pick might be enough on its own. I'm also just not that high on DFS; he's yet to prove he's a legit rotational NBA player when he's not in Luka's sidecar, IMO.

I think it would be the type of deal that happens on draft night if our guy is taken before our pick. I could see Brooklyn getting aggressive to try and move up, they are in a weird place with their roster right now. I personally like DFS a lot and wouldn't mind getting him while his stock seems to be pretty low at the moment.

I disagree on DFS... but I think we should be looking at landing Hendo and Wallace (I think Black goes early and it won't be possible). I would throw in a future pick to move up if we had to... if we land 16 it might cost a Cavs/Lakers pick to make it happen. If we landed 13 we might be able to do it without a trade or by throwing in the Philly pick.

If we are building a championship core around Lauri and Walker then hitting big on a pick or two this year is critical.

There are a bunch of different weird versions we could do with a DFS trade. They have the 21, 22 pick and have a tax problem next year. Could do DFS, 21, 22 for cap space 13 (the minny pick) and 28.

I think DFS will be a top 5-ish target for us this summer.

We are now co-chairs of the Hendo/Wallace committee too??

This is my ideal draft scenario as well. Give me two of those four guys and I will be very happy.

Outside of some of the options if we can move up, Whitehead definitely checks a lot of boxes as the type of prospect DA went after running Boston. Granted his season was laden with injury and it impacted him a lot I am guessing. Maybe it works to our advantage. I think if Walker Whitmore are gone which they probably will be come our first pick, Whitehead is a high probability if he is cleared of any medical red flags. Not my first choice necessarily but DA taking him over a lot of these others higher ranked by most, would not shock me

I think Cam Whitmore deserves more discussion because he's definitely the guy that fits the Ainge mold the most. As I've spent more time on him, the more I've become convinced. Some of my notes:

- Extra young freshman and will not be 19 on draft day. More than 1.5 years younger than Brandon Miller
- His numbers are a little nerfed because Villanova plays at one of the slowest paces in the nation (327th). I feel like he would look much better in fast pace system.
- Shot 66% at the rim with only 36% of those baskets assisted. Some of the best marks in this draft class
- Does not shoot many mid range shots, doesn't make many either
- 33% from 3 and 71% from FT line is not very impressive, however only 54% of his 3's were assisted. One of the lowest if not the lowest marks in this class.
- Only 22% FTr, doesn't have a knack for drawing fouls despite extreme physicality
- Negative AST/TO ratio
- Does not look 6'7, but built like a tank
- Explosive leaper off of both one and two feet
- Great speed and acceleration in a straight line, but not exceptionally agile. Relies on bully ball and straight line drives. Handle is better than his agility
- Jump shot form is good, slowish release
- Good stocks, active defender
- Generally seems to play hard on defense

I like him. It's not a great comparison, but the speed/power combo with the shooting kinda reminds me of Anthony Edwards. He's a mix between Ant and Miles Bridges...but that also includes some of the poor on court qualities of both. I think his athleticism and speed will translate making him a dominant slasher in the NBA....shot is somewhat of a question mark but I believe in it. Defensively I think he has versatility and is a playmaker, but better off guarding guys bigger than rather than smaller than him. His passing/feel for the game are the swing skills that will either limit him or make him an all star level player. I would trade #9 and the Minnesota pick to get him.

I still think we use the Utah and Minnesota picks, but trade the Philly one for a protected 2024 pick. However, I think I’m in the minority here in being in favor of trading both lottery picks if it could land us a Thompson twin or Cam.

I think I might do it for Amen, not sure I would do it for Ausar or Cam.

Good post. Going and back and watching his McDonalds highlights helped me understand who he could be, cause his Villanova season made you have to squint.

I like him a lot more lately than I did.

I’ll say it again, I think this draft will prove to be one of the very best in recent memory.

Hawkins looks all of 6’6” and looks fairly long. I’ll bet he starts getting looks around pick 10…
