2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

I think Lively is NBA ready from Day 1 to play his limited role and will add more wins than any other rookie the Mavs can realistically draft. It's just a perfect fit.
I mean McGee is washed... but he knows his way around the basketball court... and that didn't work at all. When they were wrecking fools in the playoffs it was with 5 out stuff. One thing that is nice to have when playing 5 out is guys that can shoot, switch and rotate to protect the rim.... just a thought.

Cool, they can go 5 out when Lively isnt on the court. If you're going 5 out with Hendricks you're getting absolutely crushed in the NBA.

I cannot believe how people think that players like Kessler just grow on trees. There are only a handful of centers ever to come in an be that impactful as a defender. Most take years to develop. Lively may be special like that too, chances are he is not.

5 out with healthy Kleber and Hendricks would be great.
Hendricks is not going to contribute to winning his rookie year in any meaningful way and may be looked at as a bust (thought it would be early to declare). He's going to be a worse version of what we saw with Smith this past year. Lively will be able to contribute like Kessler on the right team (as in Dallas).

lol... sure chief. Kessler was awesome from day 1 but had an extra year to season in college... and still dudes were in here talking about how he needed to go to the G League on a team that was supposed to tank. I'm sure Lively (who struggled out of the gate at college) will pick it up lighting quick and anchor the defense for a playoff team from day one...

Dallas is still trying to move their pick, no? Luka could ask out as early as sometime this season if they don't start getting some traction.

Hendricks might eventually replace some of what they lost in Dorian Finney-Smith, but it's going to take a few years to find out. Lively might work as a roll-man and lob threat with gravity at the rim, but that also takes advanced feel and timing that he may or may not ever develop. Plus, Lively is going to need about 20 more pounds. Neither player is going to raise the floor of their franchise as rookies.

You know who would be great for Dallas? Brook Lopez. Massive screens, multiple ways to finish inside, spacing to the corners.

Even Kessler has a ways to go, but yeah, his ability to anticipate and react is uncommon for a guy that size.

I mean, Wallace/JHS/Bufkin could go 12-13-14 in order and the Jazz would be absolutely ****ed in terms of quality rookie PG prospects.
If we are desperate for a pg then we take one at 9. If all those guys were gone by 16 then that means that one of Keyonte George, Jordan Hawkins or Bilal slipped to 16 and I have zero issue taking any of those guys then.

Damn near every pundit seems to think the Jazz are going to try to get Coulibaly.

Lol… that means we absolutely aren’t going to get him. You think we’ve been this close to the vest about workouts just to leak to everyone we want a mixture of Sekou Doumbouya and Frank Ntilikina? Not a chance man.

The funny thing is when I read these mock drafts all of them are based off of the same intel from one person. Marc Stein said the Jazz were interested in Coulibaly and every single person doing a mock put him at 9 and referenced that report. It’s a nothing burger.

I simply refuse to believe that the Jazz are going to use the pick they tanked their asses off for on Frankie Smokes 2.
Didn’t we once use a pick we tanked our asses off for on Frankie Smokes 0.5?

Who the eff is this Sekou/Frank comp? Really? That's way off. That would be like me comparing Anthony Black to Elfrid Payton.

Yeah, and we have the data now that that was bad.

Also: different regime. People are always looking to figure out Ainge's type. Well, their first attribute is almost always being a scorer.
