What's new

Donald is about to go through some things...

During a signature revved up speech delivered in Iowa on Saturday, Donald Trump said the quiet part out loud — as the expression goes — during a key moment of the campaign event, declaring, "We've been waging an all-out war on American democracy,"

He finally said something truthful!

Haha! He did say something truthful, finally. And he has no fear about being held accountable for these attacks because the media will focus on something stupid like Joe Biden’s shoe color and his cult wont care about anything he says.

What has democracy ever done for me? Elect a black man to my White House? Make me feel stupid for all those uppidities? You do know that democracy has the word DEMO in it, don’t ya?

Trump is gonna put all them vermin who think they’re better than me into cages and deport them. That way no one will be able to make me feel bad for who I voted for.

I thought this was a very helpful thread into getting into the minds of cult45ers and why they continue to cheer their god on with such gusto despite his incoherent messaging or policies (aside from hurting his perceived political opponents).

I find Dr Nichols describing some of my family members, coworkers, ward members, friends from high school, and some posters on this board perfectly here. They don’t care what Trump actually believes. They don’t care about policy. They care about how he makes them feel. And if he makes them feel special by hurting others, that’s all they care about.

Trump gives people permission to feel good about acting on their worst impulses.

"Donald Trump's call for people to "guard the vote" in 2024 has sparked concern about potential violence in next year's election.

The former president, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, repeated his unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020 at a rally in Ankeny, Iowa, on Saturday.

He used those claims as a justification for the call, telling supporters to "go into" Democratic-run cities that he has previously disparaged to "guard the vote" in 2024.

"The most important part of what's coming up is to guard the vote," he told his supporters. "You should go into Detroit and you should go into Philadelphia and you should go into some of these places, Atlanta, and you should go into some of these places and we've got to watch those votes when they come in."

Trump singled out the biggest cities in battleground states Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, all of which are Democratic strongholds that were at the center of his false claims of voter fraud in 2020.

Philadelphia's top elections official issued a statement hitting back at Trump's comments, saying they are likely aiming to "sow doubt" about election results."

Gee, I wonder why he specifically called out those cities? What do these cities have high populations of?

This is another case of Trump not specifically telling his voters to do something by. Like a mob boss. But his followers absolutely understand clearly what he’s asking them to do.

He’s priming the country for more violence.

Edit: just saw @str8line posted about this.

Lol, I don’t think we’ll see his appointment, but nice authoritarian dream….

The more incompetent, the better! If government doesn’t work, then it can’t regulate rich billionaires, work effective foreign policy between states, protect the environment, or provide many services. However, it can be used pretty effectively at stifling political opposition and enriching one’s family and political allies. All while serving delicious culture war meat to the cult. Just imagine how many libs, like you, will be triggered by Kash Patel being in charge of important stuff. Hahaha! Maybe Trump will make Flynn his Sec of Defense. Rudy Giuliani his AG. Someone hot and incompetent, like Nancy Mace, his VP. It’ll trigger most of the majority so bad and it’ll be so delicious!

There’s a reason why democracies usually devolve into authoritarianism. And authoritarianism, once entrenched, is hard to overcome.

But sure, Biden’s age, price of eggs, or something something.

Jack Smith and the democrats are so dirty.

The issue is supposed to go to an appeals court, then it could be elevated to the Supreme Court, but that process wouldn't happen in time to influence the election. No one will care if an appeals court rules one way or the other. It wouldn't even have enough traction to be the headline on the day it happens. Instead Jack Smith has gone straight to the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court votes one way then it shows even the conservative Supreme Court is against Trump. If the Supreme Court votes the other way then it shows how corrupt the court is and this election will be about that. Jack Smith is skipping the appeals court who should be hearing the case to set up a campaign advertisement. This is pure weaponization for political gain.

Do you have evidence for this claim of requiring a lower-level appeals court to see it first?

If Smith is supposed to go to an appeals court, SCOTUS will deny certification (it takes four votes to be on the docket).

NY Times:
"The request was unusual in two ways: Mr. Smith asked the justices to rule before an appeals court acted, and he urged them to move with exceptional speed."

CNN:
"Smith is asking the Supreme Court to take the rare step of skipping a federal appeals court and quickly decide a fundamental issue of the case against Trump."

MSNBC:
"...is now pending at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. ...not content to wait on the D.C. Circuit, Smith has now also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to step in on an expedited basis"

Not for a campaign ad, to get a dangerous criminal off the streets ASAP. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
