Potential Trade Targets

bucks lost to rockets despite Gianni’s dropping 47/13. They need more bench production. Clarkson was linked to bucks before. Next game could be tryout?
I remember them being linxed to Sexton in the summer, but not JC. I can`t see any reasonable filler salary for them to match in a JC-trade and they don`t have any draft picks to move.

With CP now out for 6 weeks or so it really opens up the possibility of GS making a move with his contract imo. Now he is just CP the contract and not the player. JC/KO for CP/Moody/GP2 saves GS $40M plus in tax and salary. Swaps out two guys that are hurt and one guy that is benched for 2 guys that will play a role.

Maybe take Moody out and try for a pick swap of a first in 2025 with the Cavs or Twolves pick...

Is there any way to get Mikal Bridges? I mean, the Nets havent been looking great. They lost to the Blazers at home.

The Nets just dont have a lot of talent. What's their timeline? They own a lot of great picks starting in 2027-2029. Are they really going to be able to build around Bridges? Bridges is 27. Their next best player is Cam Johnson? Maybe Claxton, who is very good, but is also a 215 LB center in a era where you need to be able to guard a star bruiser in either conference if you want a deep playoff run.

Cam Thomas got off to a blazing start, but has lost minutes every month since then. He's getting 20 MPG in January. I guess dude must be the worst defensive/team player of all time because coaches just can't seem to stand giving him consistent the minutes and the moment his offense stalls out, he is riding the bench.

I guess they are probably a leader in the "will overpay a **** ton for Donovan Mitchell" betting odds? But why? I would imagine they would have to give up Cam Johnson for that to happen, then your team is just Bridges/Mitchell with a bunch of scraps.

I think a lot of teams are looking at Lauri on our team the same way.

Yeah, but Utah has a legit treasure trove of picks spanning the next 5 years with full control of their own selections (after this OKC thing at least) and a stable of rookie contract players who are viewed as positive assets (Simone/Hendricks/Sensabaugh/Keyonte).

I just struggle to see any high quality path forward for the Nets. I guess they can trade away all of their picks for an all-star once again?

It’d be nice to flip the script and get someone like Bridges but in reality it would be much more likely to be us acquiescing to trading Lauri. If you traded Lauri for a bag, what if you hit on one of those picks? I mean really hit, like landed a huge talent. Imagine how many picks you could trade that guy for!

Just lookin at Nets stats and stuff, it looks like Lonnie Walker and Cam Thomas got off to insanely hot starts and have cooled off (either just due to regression or injury). That seems to be th reason for their decline as of late. Dinwiddie has been Din-****** this year.

The issue with the Nets is they don't own their own picks... so why rebuild. May as well wait out a couple years. They have a great roster if they were to land a guy like Donovan and I think that could happen in a couple ways. If Cleveland takes it all the way to FA I think Nets can outright sign him. They may get him cheaper than you think if Don finally does the trade demand with preferred destinations.

Lonzo is someone to watch for with a John Collins trade. Apparently next year of his contract can be wiped off the cap, making him an expiring contract.

Its listed as a player option so not sure that is true unless you have a source. I think he is an expiring next year. Now insurance may cover his contract or a percentage of that but it doesn't help the cap.
