They would have to shop Draymond/Klay/Looney first and see what they can get. Then ask Curry if he's on board with them moving his best buddies. I mean where can Curry realistically go? There's not a single contender that has the cap and assets to make a move for Curry and it would be just much easier for dubs to do a soft retool by trading Draymond/Klay.

Looney is a solid big on a nice contract, but I doubt you get a lot for him. Klay is expiring, 33 years old and has had a pretty bad season. Hard to gauge Draymond's value, but he's also not getting younger, is crazy and has ~3/75 left after this season. Wiggins has looked completely disillusioned, and is probably a negative contract at this point (~3/85 left).

Dunleavy is a in a sticky situation. There was a report yesterday that they dont want to trade away Klay and Draymond as they are franchise legends, and today they said they dont want to trade away Moody and Kuminga.

I dont really know what line of thinking they follow here. You wanna hold on to your old greats even though they are not the same guys they used to be, and you dont wanna trade your future guys even though one of them barely sees the court... so now they gonna go to the gunrange with only blanks in theri clip and then they are gonna end up wondering how the target board looks pristine afer they empty that clip.

Remember the Harden/Morey situation where I called out Morey's strategy and told you that Harden will burn him? I told you exactly what was about to happen and how Morey was overplaying his hand.

Here is a reminder (Harden quit like 3 days later):

Its clear what the endgame looks like for Harden if his situation isnt resolved. He is gonna quit on the court at some point.

This is the way.

But I was stunned to hear the report that Sixers are looking to get an All-Star guard in return for him. Why is Morey overplaying his hand this badly? Everyone expects Harden to force his hand at some point even if he is on his best behaviour right now.

I dont think it's that clear. I dont think Harden will quit. He's on a contract year and he knows his vaue isnt what it once was. He cant completely mail the season in.

It certainly wont be a great environment, but I dont think he will tank the Sixers season.

This time around its painfully obvious that Dunleavy should try to get calls ASAP to see whats out there.... and he instead dangles only Wiggins out there who is just about as interesting as a bag of turnips. Its not like Klay is the type of guy who draws interest automatically with the way he is playing right now, but there probably is a market for him, if you really want to move on. For Moody Dunleavy doesnt have any idea who could really be interested, so definitely should leak out that "they may consider trading Moody for a player who improves them now".

Leverage does not exist if you have the most expensive roster in the history of the NBA and are 12th and trending downwards. Everyone can smell blood in those waters.

Looney always looks tired and slow but this year… dude looks like he’s for reals washed. Wiggins is on melatonin… Klay is cooked… Steph still has his fastball but not everyday. I think their options are go the route of the Mavs Dirk twilight years… suck and start adding young guys while Steph wins 30 something games a year for 2-3 years. Get less expensive… hope Curry requests out so you can get a haul for him and not be the bad guy.

This is where you need a guy like Ainge and Myers didn’t have the stomach for it. Dunleavy likely doesn’t either.

Sixers having a pretty great season. So I was right about Harden not tanking the season. Harden never got on the court to quit on the court, so IDK what your point is. Morey ended up getting as good a deal as he could get.

I'm sure Dunleavy is getting a ton of calls. You just can't seem overly eager to do anything. If it becomes known you're actively shopping Moody or Klay, then teams will feed off that.

I know he isnt what he was once, but get him on the team, play him 25-ish MPG as the starter. His shooting would amazing on this team.

But the reality is that the Jazz probably shouldnt be going after such a win now move.

Since they need to get really bad to even have a chance at keeping this pick, I feel it's very likely there is no fire sale before the summer, unless someone calls with a huge haul for Curry.

Even if the team looks horrible right now, there is enough talent there for them to turn things around, after all.

I wouldn't give up much, tbh. He's great, but for just a few months and the right to overpay him in the summer? Not so sure. He _is_ 33, and while he's been productive again now, he's been much less consistent, and I'm not sure his motivation would be the same it has been.

I get out from under Greens deal ASAP. Even if the return is like Dlo or Rui and that’s it. He’s one more dumbass move away from being untradeable even to the Lakers. Dallas also might consider Green… or at least had interest before.
