The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I will forever die on the hill that this was a monumentally stupid trade. NAW has been fantastic for Minnesota and Conley was a godsend when they were on the verge of imploding.

I guess I drank the kool aid that Conley was washed and he looks like he is going to play the next five years. Now compare Beasley, NAW and Vanderbilt to our current players. It makes me just a little bit sad.

Yeah hated that back then, and still do.

Btw you may not wanna hear this but in addition to Conley and NAW the Wolves also got our 2025 and 2026 2nd rounders that now seem to be destined to be early 30s.

Conley currently averages 7+4 on 23% shooting which is even worse than Key. Advance stats also tell the same story. He's currently a whopping -3 on box plus and minus and -7 in terms of net rating. He washed. Minny is only where they are now this season because of Ant. Conley definitely helped them last season. Don't get me wrong. But this season he's definitely helping us by dragging down Minny's offense.

You missed the part of his post that says "when they were on the verge of imploding"

That be a past tense phrase my guy

Trading Conley was absolutely the right decision. Only problem I have with it is that the Jazz should have cleansed the roster earlier. Looking at what we got…hard to say we really benefitted from waiting until the last second.

As far as Conley going to Wolves…that was the Lakers decision. Can’t control what they decide to do. I also don’t think it really has too much effect on our pick. It had zero effect on our first MIN pick. They were 31-30 without Conley and 11-10 with him. Did not change the outcome of that pick. Last year we had no MIN pick. This year, it looks as though Father Time may be coming for Mike. It happens to everyone. Obviously Conley’s “impact” on even more distant picks feels even more favorable as he ages.

I love Mike, but this idea that the TWolves franchise would have imploded doesn’t add up to me. What adds up is Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert. A franchise with those two players under control is going to be good. What did we expect….if Conley isn’t there there Edwards was going to be traded?

NAW is a different case. Total failure in evaluation by Hardy and the FO, but that’s independent of the Conley thing.

They can always bench him. Having on the team is a positive.

I always liked ochai and thought they should have kept him
