The line you quoted wasn't what caused Stephanopoulos to cut off the conversation. It was the mention of one name: Matthew Colangelo.

Trump's lawyer said Biden's administration was orchestrating the prosecution of Trump. Stephanopoulos retorted with a claim of there being no evidence Biden was involved. Trump's lawyer, oh yes there was and started to talk about Matthew Colangelo. Stephanopoulos freaked out on air, began quickly and loudly talking over Trump's lawyer so the lawyer's words couldn't be made out before effectively cutting to commercial to stop him from talking about Matthew Colangelo.
 
Just want to reiterate.

Some people are upset the trump is being investigated during a political campaign. They think it's election interference and the voters should simply decide at the polls.

Trump spouted off his entire campaign in 2016 about how Hilary is a criminal and needs to be investigated. Lock her up!

Trump told the leader of a foreign country that he would give that country the money that Congress had promised unless that country investigated Trump's political opponent.

This is all on tape and video.

Biden did none of this.

You missed the point. I will post it again. I wasn't talking about why the conversation was cutoff. I was talking about the stupid contradictory statement made.

Lol. If that's the way campaign are run, then why are they still refuting the 2020 election. The people have spoken thru the ballot box and yet they went to court over 60 times to contest the election and all were thrown out.

Also, this was a criminal case, not an election, and they're contested in the courts, which found his client guilty unanimously by 12 of Trump's peers.

They aren't. They are defending themselves against cases initiated by democrat operatives but if it were up Trump's people or the GOP, we'd all be concentrated on the 2024 election. Democrats don't want to do that because Joe Biden is awful. They can't stand on their own merits so they're running a memberberries campaign. Member January 6? Member Stormy Daniels?

I think in the name of justice Merchan has the balls to put Trump in prison and will do it.

Republicans are boxing themselves into a corner they’ll have a hell of a time walking away from. Now, with the NY conviction, they turned to rhetoric that one might normally see uttered as part of the prelude to civil war. How do they walk away from such rhetoric? Can anyone really imagine our US history texts being rewritten to reflect Trump and MAGA’s alternate reality? It will never happen, the Truth will win out eventually. Meaning the MAGA led Republicans are out of their minds backing themselves into such a corner. The longer they wait, the harder it will be for their party to ever recover credibility

It really doesn't matter what the political right says. What the political left says they say will be all that is remembered. The winner gets to write the history and the fix is in. A right wing politician will not win another nationwide race in your lifetime no matter how bad his opponent is.

I live where this system was invented. I've seen first hand how effective it is. Laugh all you want but with the changes to election procedures, no politician on the political right will win a nationwide election.

And a Republican literally just won it very recently.
Then he did literally the worst job as president in history and lost the next one. Which makes total sense. Then he tried to stay in power and overturn the election he lost. Which he lost because of how bad he sucked.
He should lose again this November.

However, if Haley were running against Biden then I am certain that she would win.

Yep.

Trump however, encapsulates the grievance that the GOP base feels. So losing actually feeds their anger (and feels better) than winning.
