Excited for Hayward

I know a big concern for him is defense, which it should be. He is going to need to improve his body if he wants to be a legitimate starter, but here is how I see it. He cant be any worse of a defender than Kyle Korver, and he probably even has a higher BBall IQ. So as our 3rd wing player (replacing KK) we actually improve our defense and rebounding.

his defense is actually very good but he may struggle phsycally if he is to defend 3

You may not love the pick but it's WAAAAY to early to call this draft a terrible draft. Who knows maybe they have a trade in the works for a big...
That was somewhat prophetic!
Doubter exposed.
Good stuff. Your post at the start of the thread reminded me how I was upset, then talked my self into it, but I've done that on almost every pick I've ever not liked.;)

there was plenty of justifiable angst over the Hayward selection. We were very much in need of a big at the time and their were justifiable concerns over his drop in efficiency in his sophomore year + whether he was better than George. Unearthing this thread and claiming prescience is pretty retardo... especially since all the pluses you mentioned were basically copy-paste basics from draft sites.

Hayward is working out. KOC is better than most of the people on this board give him credit. shocking.

I was a George guy but I am happy with Gordon Hayward for sure. I would rather have Gordon. Hayward came out of the blue in the draft. I was mad because I though George was going to be pretty good.

I think now that Gordon is going to be a better player than George. Gordon is going to be an All-star I bet

Honestly, I wasn't taking either Hayward or George that seriously because I thought we were going for a big. When we selected a wing that WASN'T George I was surprised because George's physical profile and skills were better than Hayward's. Seeing that I didn't know a hell of a lot about either player at that point, I contained most of my hyperbole and have been very happy with Hayward from an early stage. I've said for a while that he as the POTENTIAL to be a more complete player than George.... this month has been exciting for him and his supporters; I've had a good time.

I didn't want Hayward or George (primarily level of competition). I wanted Xavier.

Thought about bumping the thread I made about George a month prior to the draft.

How didn't you know about Hayward? He had gone to two straight National Championship games.
