What's new

Upcoming New TV Serieseses

It is based off a series of books. Not sure how closely though.

Int he books something happens on nantucket island (called "The Change") back east and all higher laws of physics stop. Combustions engines to longer work. Even ones built from scratch. Anything more advanced than steam engines no longer work. So an apocalypse happens and it deals with how people survive.

In the series there is a medieval empire set up around Portland (original bad guys that reform to goodish guys) Clan McKenzie (based on old clan type crap) and the "Bearkillers" in Oregon and into Idaho, , New Deseret (utah) Boise Federation, Indian tribes, CUT (bad guys), then stuff further east. CA is a death zone as is the entire east coast.

Basically America is done adn 20ish little types of life spring up, clans, tribes, mideval empirs, federations. Has nordic, scottish, indian, english ties to the old ways..

There is evena group called the Dunedain Rangers (from Lord of the Rings) that spring up. There own sign language and language based off "elvish"

Pretty good stuff.
Until this I was thinking that Revolution was the rogue nuclear sub preview I'd been seeing, but now I remember seeing the clan/resistance type previews where one of the clans had a break through in getting some technology to work.
Wasn't planning on watching anything new but maybe thnx to y'alls descriptions I might check them out.
Last season I tried to watch The River, Grimm and one other fairy tale one that was like cindirella or sleeping beauty but couldn't ever catch them to keep up. Not sure what y'all thought of those ones.

I didn't watch any of last year's new shows. I was interested in watching Awake, but I never got around to it and then found it got cancelled after 13 episodes.

My kids and I have been watching Lost on Netflix for the past few months. Nearing the end of season 3 now.

My wife and I just starting watching this series. I was able to completely avoid it while it was on, so it's been a fun ride. We're right about where you are, episode 19 of season 3.

It will get more and more ridiculous from there. Oops, sorry guys, forgive me.

Same with me--I didn't watch a single episode while it was on. Very funny that we are so close: we watched season 3 episode 22 tonight. :-)

I just finished Sons of Anarchy Season One. That show is very very good.

None of the previews for new shows have gotten me excited at all. I'll give one or two a shot (I always do) but the die-off rate on them is so high it's reasonable to wait and see which ones make it.

So I watched the first episode of Awake, and I'm already sad about it being cancelled. That could change if the other episodes aren't as good.

Reasonable, yes. For some reason, though, watching a series develop is so much more fun for me if done in real time. Maybe it's the delay between episodes and the forced anticipation that makes it more enjoyable. I dunno.

As an aside, I have the first episode of Copper sitting on my DVR at home and will watch it when I get back in town. Did anyone watch the premiere? If so, how was it?

One of the shows I was excited to resume watching has now been deleted from my DVR and my season pass: "Wilfred". It became painful to watch for me. I loved it last season, laughed a lot, and really enjoyed it. This season was like going to the dentist. I enjoy dark comedy, but I like to have comedy with it.

Season Two was even better. Then it drops, but is still very watchable. I'm excited for the new (final) season to start.

I saw some commercial where a chick was trying to stop one of the motorcyclists, and he swerved to avoid her and went off a bridge. Was that literal in the show? As in, the cliffhanger or something?

I'm most of the way through season two. I have not enjoyed it as much as the original. The breakneck pace slowed way down and there's been 100% less burning off of tattoos with blowtorches.

I don't watch new shows very often. Don't have a computer or any TV. Although now that I can download torrents on my phone and transfer them to my work computer I've kept up with Breaking Bad and True Blood.

Still bitter about how Heroes ended.

I only have one more episode of Awake left. I love it and I'm sad it got cancelled, but based on what I've seen there's no that show could have gotten through another full season or more without getting ridiculous. There are similarities between Awake and Prison Break. Awesome, awesome, awesome premise that can't last very long before becoming ridiculous.
