Following potential 2013 draftees

The Greek Freak also grew three inches in the last year. I'm sure he is still trying to figure out things. I actually expect him to become even more athletic than he is now.

Means he'll likely top it off with 1 more inch this year and could be near 6'10" when all said and done. Draft this freak.

as far as drafting BPA in this draft it is very hard to judge. this draft is very deep in bigs. this draft unlike drafts before teams will draft for needs first. word is that most teams agree that they are looking for rotational players before game changers.

Yep I agree with this. This year once you hit pick #12 onwards it seems there isn't any consensus as to the order. Well less so than other years anyway.

If McCollum is BPA at the #14 pick, then by all means pick him. But I don't know if we need another SG. So if Robinson III is there, I'd pick him instead.

Seriously, what's this love affair with GRIII ? What exactly does he do as a 6'6" SF that's so impressive?

He's about the same size as Alec Burks. He shoots 33% from 3-pt range, averages 11 pts, 5 boards, one assist and a steal per game. He's a good athlete, but he doesn't handle or pass really. He looks like a back-up swingman to me when we already have Burks and Hayward.

If you're drafting GRIII that high though, its because you hope he can play SG....

I'm asking myself what it is he can do that Wesley Johnson and Martel Webster can't do. I get that GR3 is young and has pedigree, but I think he's benefiting from the attention being given to the Michigan program right now.

Wait, im confused.

Mccollum is always lumped in with burke and mcw and smart in discussions, and when i watch his highlight video it seems that he is playing point guard.... i have also seen another poster compare him to a poor mans steph curry.
All these things point to mccollum being a point guard yet you say dont draft him cause we dont need a SG?

What is he? Shooting guard or point guard?

(i like what i have seen of him btw and would we happy if we end up with him)

It's his potential that's really tantalizing. He's 6'6, but he's big and solid. Extremely athletic. He's young, but has a great feel for the game. Michigan plays Stauskus and Hardaway Jnr. at SG and SF, and has started GRIII at PF all season next to Morgan at C - so he had to guard bigger guys most nights - but he was able to hold his own. Also as you can imagine, they don't run a lot of plays for him, with Stauskus & Hardaway Jnr & Burke getting most of the shots. He was restricted to a role player this year that hasn't had a chance to really show what he could do.

If a team is willing to be patience & draft him to develop (and KOC has shown that he's willing to do that with Hayward), I see him as a potential steal at #14 or higher if he decide to declare.

lol PKMoe's a huge homer.

Bet a guy $30 that the Jazz would win 55 games this year...
What's $30 to PKM?
PKM - just out of curiosity, would I get neg'd if I post Louisville's Harlem Shake video here?
Be a man, if you want to post something, post it. quit worrying about your rep.
I may take McCollum before MCW. I'd be happy if we end up with him.
Honestly, I don't want either of these guys, wouldn't hate the McCollum pick, but I've completely soured on MCW, he's long but he would get exposed at the NBA level in my opinion, not very explosive or the most athletic, and he can't shoot. Yes, he is good at getting to the rim against collage players, but not sure about this translating to the NBA for him. In my eyes MCW has the biggest bust potential in the draft.
I want to draft the greek freak but we need to buy a pick to do it.
why? Do you see him as a top ten pick?
I tend to agree.. totally.. if he's still there.

my problem with McCollum is he seems more like a sg then pg. Don't we already have this in Mo? If I was 100% positive we would draft Wolters or Canaan in the second round, I would want to stay away from him at all costs. He's an athlete but not elite level. That's a problem for pg's that aren't really pg's. Am I completely wrong here?

that's the weakness with McCollum can he play pg at the next level? if he can he is a lotto pick if not he is an undersized sg and should be drafted in the 20s. I personally think he will do just fine will take a year or 2 to get better and start making an impact.

Actually he probably gets drafted top 6 if you know he can play PG for sure. What's not to like? 6'3" and over 50% three point shooter. Rebounds for his position like an animal. A senior, but young for his class.
