Annual Black and Purple Thread

Gotta be impressed by the Rockies great start. And they've won mostly on the road. Can they keep it up?

My apologies, colton...I know "gotta" ain't a word.

Can Rosario and Fowler keep it up? Fowler isn't hitting 70 homers of course, but hopefully at a lesser pace. I question if a catcher can though.

This team can slug 1 through 8 and is top five in every hitting category. If Rockies could ever get some pitching.

Don't look now, but Rockies are in 1st.
I will admit I hadn't given them much of a shot, figuring it would be the Giants and Dodgers battling for 1st and one of the wild cards all season. Colorado AND Arizona have been early surprises.

Always hard to repeat, especially as much pressure and innings as the Giants put on their starting pitching. I don't think SFG will be bad but I think for this year the pitching will feel all the extra innings from last year and not be as dominate, I still think they'll be good but I don't expect them to be able to repeat.

Let me try.

ROCKIES don't stand for steroid use like the BRAVES do with Dan Uggla. Back in 2009, Yorvit Torrealba was banging for a catcher and was the only ROX who could get a hit in the post season. But he was obviously roided up so they dumped him for this young bonehead Chris Iannetta (who the broke DODGERS were dumb enough to pick up). Now flip back to a club like the BRAVES. They reward roid use with a $62 million dollar Dan Uggla contract.

I don't even have to get started on the CUBS hiding Sammy Sosa's problem or the GIANTS drug problems with Barry Bonds or promoting Tim Lincecum's weed addiction.

don't need players who juice when they only put the opponents balls in the humidor.

first time watching harvey pitch this year... maybe he doesn't have his best stuff today, but he looks EXTREMELY hittable.

what a throw by duda... wish there were more of's with the ability to take a guy out at the plate.

Two wins in a row for the Rox, scoring 10 in each. Egads, SF has become an error machine.

Sigh.

Colorado used to be automatic wins for us.

The Rockies' bats sure woke up for this series. Rosario went bananas.

They looked good. The NL West is turning out to be a very competitive division.
