GAME 1(!): Your UTAH JAZZ hosting OKLAHOBOS -- Wednesday Oct30 7pm MST -- ROOT Sports

What a game. Too bad we lost since the team is too good to have a realistic chance of a bottom 5 finish.

I know that this is not going to be a popular opinion but isn't this the perfect game for the Jazz this year?

Favors looked great.
Kanter looked great.
Burks exceeded anything that he has done at any point in his NBA career.
Hayward was in foul trouble but still played a decent game.
Gobert showed that he can go up against physical players and still be a presence on the floor.
The Jazz had a chance to tie the game at the end.....................but still lost?

Does it get much better than that?

Totally agree. But now we need Burke to prove you wrong, and come back from his injury and lead us to more very close losses!

So with Burke, Marvin, and Rush coming back, I think we could do pretty well. I don't think we will win that many on the road. So Win-win this season.

I mean OKC's good and all but this Western Conference champ / finals contender stuff is kinda dishonest. They're without Westbrook. They would have crushed us with Westbrook

You know what I loved about this game?

We came within three points of knocking out a championship contender, with their best player going of for 40-- all while we only dressed 10 jerseys. Marvin, Rush, and Burke all out with injury.

Im telling you-- this team will not be as bad as people think we will be. We have so much ****ing talent, and every player on this roster doesn't want to lose.

Sorry to the tank crowd, but I'm expecting lotsa heart from this group of guys.

Great start to the season. Go Jazz!

and OKC had a 12 point lead.

yep, you are probably right. Westbrook brings a lot to that team.

Thats true-- but Westbrook is pretty hot/cold as well.

I thought Reggie Jackson really **** on our chest too, with his threes and his BS clutch trip to the charity stripe.

It's true Jackson played well, I just feel with Westbrook's athleticism and our PG situation as is this game would have been a proverbial picking candy from a baby type game for him. It's harder to double KD when WB is playing, too

The Jazz are missing a third of their personnel, have another third who never played with the others before, and one last third without any starter experience. But yeah, OKC didn't have a guy.

They would have won by 10, doubt crushed, Jackson is no bum.

Also 25 assists to 9 cause of durrant. I think that will be a strength for the jazz; playing team basketball.

Thought Corbin did a really good job tonight. Rode that early 4th lineup as long as he could, got Burks a little rest before bringing him back in. Gordo was cold, and maybe Corbin should have brought him in earlier, and moved Burks to the 1 until Harris's inevitable foul out, but overall Corbin did a really good job putting the team in a position to win a tough game. Everyone seemed prepared, knew what was expected of them, and competed from start to finish. Nice opener.
