GAME 1(!): Your UTAH JAZZ hosting OKLAHOBOS -- Wednesday Oct30 7pm MST -- ROOT Sports

loved the passing. 4 guys with 5asts or more.

Shooting went from great at the start to not good at all at the end. rush and burke will help a hell of a lot with that. seeing okc sag off tinsley like 10 feet at the 3pt line tore my heart apart a little.

Hayward was absolutely horrific tonight. I know it's only one night and all players have off nights, but those two shots that clanked were inexcusable. I said in another post, when I returned to the forum, that I was not sold on either Favors or Hayward. Favors endeared himself to me tonight and Hayward made me think he needs to stick to playing online role playing games.

He had some good steals and passes at the end of the game. You can't always look at his shots. But I agree, he could've been better.

Somewhere Cyrone is sitting in his poopy pants.

Burks is an baller CY. I told you he'd be a star for us.

Facepalm man! OKC is not a contender without Westbrook. They have never contended without Westbrook. Westbrook is not just a good player. Westbrook is a great player. He is a top-10 NBA player. He is instrumental in what OKC hopes to do in their game plans, in the structure of their team, and in any hopes they have at making it anywhere in the playoffs. Are you kidding (trolling) me? Are you so desperate for silver linings that you're willing to either completely downplay and distort the truth or delude yourself into thinking this way? I don't know why it bugs me so much, other than the fact that is just seems so... dishonest

Edit: I'm not saying it's not cool that we played as close as we did. But why do we have to lie about the quality of team we were playing? Are we so desperate for good feelings and what not. Is it not enough to say we played a decent playoff quality team close? Why must we embellish

So it is OK for you to embellish. Westbrook is not a top 10 player. He is a great player but he isn't in the top 10. Besides do we know if he will be the same player? There are times when Westbrook gets selfish which has cost the Thunder a few games. Even without Westbrook, OKC is a very good team and the Jazz have been predicted to be a bottom 5 team, so maybe just a little embellishment should be tolerated.

I agree that if Westbrook had played in the game the score would not have been as close but you have to give credit to the Jazz for fighting hard and coming back.

He did. Those plays were silver linings in the clouds of a defcon 5 storm.

I know stats don't tell the whole story but it seems weird that you seem to want to throw him under the bus.

People miss shots bro it happens and it is totally excusable.

We need a PG.

Our current batch are fringe NBA players.

I don't know if Burke is the answer. But until he comes back, Burks should be getting the PT.

Favors had 5 assists tonight...just outstanding.

That man has really worked on improving his overall game. Nice to see.

This is one area I have seen the most improvement from favors. Looks like he has taken a lesson or two from malone. Both bigs could use a real starting pg. Alec looked really bad early but started to hit in the second half. Needs work on his outside shot. Hayward looks like he is jumping higher than before by a good margin. Anyone else think the same? If so it could have altered his shot a bit. our bench is bad. Just some random thoughts.

The Jazz are missing a third of their personnel, have another third who never played with the others before, and one last third without any starter experience. But yeah, OKC didn't have a guy.

Dude, it's Russell Westbrook. He's pretty freaking good

Where do you get good high res pics of media day, etc to make wallpapers with?

I didn't make this. It's from the SL Tribune's Jazz season preview. I tweeted to @tribjazz and @sltrib about making this image in wallpaper dimensions but got no response.

Just finished watching via League Pass. I was happy with how we played. There is not a team in the league that has a worse healthy PG situation in the league than us, and we still challenged them. By the way, anyone wishing we would have drafted Michael Carter Williams now? For all we know, Burke could have a better career, but that was quite a showing against the HEAT!

We played JL3 for like 37 minutes! I'm not going to shed a damn tear for Westbrook. We would have defended him too. Not a lot of short guys driving to the hoop tonight. Just awesome to see confident defense.
I'm a little tickled to see Gobert steal some minutes from Kanter. Remember Kanter is still working his way back from injury. He is not going to get 35+ right away. Seriously, our only really big problem tonight was turnovers. That will fix itself this season and get a real point guard with vision and handles.
Also what bus station did we grab Harris from? What's the status of his contract?

Though Hayward was 4/13 which is quite terrible.

Hayward was 4 of 13 and two of those misses were like a blind man shot them.

So they gave out magnetic schedules ay the game, and I'm glad I grabbed some extras because as Hayward's last shot came out I slammed two of them on the seat in front of me.

I only made it for the second half, but it was a lot of fun!

He also played the 2. For a sg .40 fg% is fine. If 1 more of his shots landed he would have been there. Relax a bit. It was below where he should perform but it wasn't crazy below.
