Oscar Nominations

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a surprise if I tell you that none of those films are remotely in contention against the full field.

Not in contention to win or not in contention to be nominated? 'Cause Casino Royale is a near masterpiece. If there was the 10 nominees like there is now, it would have a shot to be one of them though it would likely be on the outside looking in I think. The use of Mads was poor. Dude's a stud and he just wasn't utilized as strongly as he could be. The cheesy eye thing and all.

When's the last time that you watched Casino Royale? I think you might be surprised how much it drags in a non-theater setting.

Fwiw, I mostly disliked Casino Royale and thought Craig was horribly stiff as James Bond.

Within the last year. I probably watch it once a year. Yeah. I don't disagree with you on that. There are some parts that drag a little. The poker parts are maybe the best example of that off the top of my head. If I had to guess that whole tourney with its' other intertwined scenes took up like 45 minutes of screen time and it just wasn't that interesting, especially since they're done (from a poker perspective) so poorly too. Mads as I've mentioned as well. I'd have to go back and watch but it is still so close to being a masterpiece. The best Bond film to date imo and I've seen them all multiple times. It has so much going for it. I could go on and on but I'll cut it short. It has one of my favorite scenes. When Bond comes back to the hotel room after killing a dude (or two?) and finds his female companion sitting in the shower in shock. It's so masterfully done. The music, the lighting, the camera slowly zooming in on them as he sits down with her to console her. ****ing love that scene.

Love, love, love that American Sniper is up for six awards (more?) including Best Picture and Best Actor. I did it to win BP, 100 to win 2,000 and Cooper to win Best Actor, 50 to win 1,000, about a month ago. The Academy and their love for Eastwood and Cooper coming through big for me. Now they need to do it two more times.

Bruh, I think you have a gambling problem.

I really thought Snowpiercer sucked. I just could not get into it all, there was nothing moving or even thought provoking about the entire thing except how stupid it was.

Those odds were just too good to pass up. I'm currently thinking the Best Actor award is truly a three horse race between Keaton, Cumberbatch and Cooper. Carrell has zero shot and I can't think of a time the Academy has given an award to a nobody like Remayne.

American Sniper won't win BP. Too many of the Hollywood types think it glorifies the Iraq war.
