NAOS vs. Hack thread

An organized bullying campaign then. Something in the genre of 'all the sheeple are against me'.

No.

But I have gestured at the trend toward more cliquish behavior... and I'm not the only poster who has mentioned it. That said, I don't think I'm the only person who gets spat on by it, or that it's organized in any conscious fashion, let alone around me.

So, yeah, reach.

Spat on? This is a community of real people. Accordingly, there will be mocking and teasing. Most of us will just laugh about it and get on with our lives. You have absolutely no problem partaking in this behavior, and you often come off as mean-spirited. But due to your inflated sense of self importance, you respond to even the most trivial barbs with cries about the endless injustice you suffer through.

I'm sure you were also referring to me (because I'm aware of how I come across), but this is actually a pretty good summarization of my thoughts

Nope. I was referring exactly to whom I said I was 'you ****ers' as in all you ****ers. There is always someone cryin round here. Except Babe. Babe doesn't seem to give a ****.

I meant "also referring to me".
Agreed.

You've got Gobert-like reach tonight. Christ.

I suspect your comment is tongue in cheek, but it kind of struck a cord. I do okay for myself, and I have a job that I enjoy and that pays well. However, I have so many ideas that I would love to pursue. I am an engineer (professionally and naturally), and I have, across the years, designed many technical solutions with obvious market demand. I will draw, calculate, and even build functional prototypes on occasion. But I never go further than that. It's always something "i'll do later". But later never comes. I always thought of it as laziness, but you're right, it's just cowardliness. I am comfortable, and I'm afraid to take a chance and ruin what I have. :/

Well, on that score I've done no better.

Yes, I was deliberately goading PKM, just for fun. You and I will have to root for our makings in life pretty hard if we will ever achieve a notable success financially.

PKM is actually a pretty good person, has some grounded values and is smart enough to respect others for whatever deserves respect.

I'm actually thinking of contacting Hack to form a sort of desalination club, and maybe a company to develop new designs and materials for that industry. . . . Anything to make it work better, be more competitive and advance development of projects. . . .

I'm thinking maybe you're in the bioengineering sort of niche or something.

well, I'm a sort of Brit snob in my own right. My wife says it's "arrogance" or something, refusing to consider the relevance of others.

I'd say I think you guys have a lot of fun, and maybe take things too seriously when dishing stuff out or taking it. At least I hope you have fun.

Actually, if psychoanalysis is in order, I am the youngest of my large family, a pack of Ph.D.'s, college profs, with the odd lawyer and chemical engineer. When I was growing up, nobody listened to me. I listened to everybody and thereby became a sort of knowitall, but if I tried to show it off it would get no respect except from classmates or my own age group peers. My older brothers knew it all, too. We had a lot of debates if you will allow the more socially acceptable picture, and I learned solidly to expect that others will be and think what they please regardless of my opinions.

I think that's a good realistic way to deal with others.

Holy **** the insecurities...pages 1-3. Stopped there. FTR I like NAOS and hack, though hack got hell a boring once he started running with "the cool kids".

I hate to see brains wasted in cowards or sychophants. You've got'em, you've a duty to make yourself wealthier than the "old money" playboys.

To achieve the personal drive to accomplish that, you need to hate the way Frankln does. Hating stupidity is a virtue.
Wait.. Did you call me stupid?

NAOS: you say cliquishness.. But fwiw, I have spent time outside of jazzfanz with chris-l, Zulu, UGLI, franklin, Orangello, fishon, gameface, bigb, trout, Jason, numberica, stoked, and probably a few others.

I couldn't care less if you call it a clique, but sometimes people just know each other and thereby communicate more on and on topics that others don't get.

Carry on.

Ok. Makes sense.

Tell me, though, what do you have to say about the story that I didn't show up to meet Trout? Why do you think that story, as told, has gotten so much traction on JFC?

I assume it got a lot of traction because the two of you started your long winded feud on the forum leading up to the event. Then the story continued from there. Why does it matter?

Wow... what a dodge.

I'll tell you why it matters later.....

Did I show up or not?

I'm lost. I thought that had been established a long long time ago. The story may have evolved because at first I wasn't sure, but was later cleared up. I know trout still likes to say you didn't show up but I am of the impression everyone knows you did.

Was that better?
