2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Comparable in which way? Someone who is taken later and becomes one of the best players in the class?

Three-level scoring, slippery ability to get where they want on the floor, sneaky athleticism and toughness despite a slight build, and yeah, similar draft range. Hali is a more polished playmaker, as Kobe is still new to it.

My impression watching Kobe Bufkin is that he could be comparable to the Tyrese Halliburton of this draft. I understand if the Jazz want Wallace to be their culture-setter, and they need to decide what style of lead guard they want, but I would take Bufkin long before I'd take Hood-Schifino.

I also still consider Bilal Coulibaly to be the value-pick Thompson twin of this draft.
I would say Podziemski is the most Haliburton esque player.

To me the case against GG is that we already have Lauri. GG upside is probably scoring in a lot of the same ways as Lauri. So if you are looking at it from Danny's perspective does he want to develop a guy who has a reputation for being immature when he is somewhat redundant to your current star? Or would he rather use the picks to draft stars who could be primary ballhandlers or more "stars in their role" type players?

(And no, I'm not off GG Island, but I can see why Utah might not be enthralled)

More Maxey/Quickley/Simons mold in my mind.

I listened to this today.

Wild how anyone can get a podcast.
I mean other than the Sensabaugh to Utah thing, they were pretty in line with what the board concensus is. I think they feel like Sensabaugh has a Hardin-like ceiling and the Jazz need to reach for something like that here. It is like the guys considering GG at that spot.

I kinda feel like you could have gotten Walker there and Sensabaugh at 16 if you wanted a player like that though.

I agree with this. Lauri is bigger, a better shooter, more forceful going to the rim and already developed. Whereas someone like Jarace Walker, who can run 4/5 pick-and-rolls with Lauri and switch everywhere defensively, is a better complement.
