to that point, watching Amen the other day, i had the thought that as good as he is and he is damn good, Key, simply due to his ability to score from everywhere on the floor with the ball in his hands + his passing/playmaking he might ultimately be better than Amen if Amen never figures out the shooting. scoring matters in the nba if we're talking about stardom, and amen is currently at 17 ppg which is a career high but is having his worst efficiency season. and Brandon Miller can't stay healthy. it's possible Key could be the 2nd best player in the draft. the candidates are amen, miller and key. hard to make a case for anybody else at this point.
also, anthony black is looming. he's finally starting to get a bigger role and if he does, dude is going to be pretty great.

In Key's first 11 games, he shot 26% from three. In his last 10 games, he has shot 41% from three.
At this point I'm hoping he agrees to a 5 year deal just short of the max.

Keyonte is a stud. He has all the tools and skills. He always did. He just needed experience and maturity.
It's a good problem to have, but what to pay a young defensively limited, offensively gifted guard is a big decision. This could be interesting.
This is going to be a difficult negotiation because Key's camp can point to comparable that suggest he should get paid more, but at the same time the league has become weary of non-defenders. Basic numbers look good, but advanced numbers (while very much improved) do not love him. Hard to know what contract that means in the apron era.
I wonder where's Key's head is at. I think WK really wanted a deal and the relationship was soured when he didn't get. Key might want to chase a max contract, but personally I don't think he's done enough. Even if he keeps this up the whole season, I don't think he's a max guy.

His 3p% is pretty much back up to his career % and rising and his overall fg% is up a good 5% compared to last year. It isn’t just progress he’s made this year, but a big jump. I’ll readily admit I didn’t see it coming after last season.
Think K had 9 free throws last night and made them all
