OP on his deal 27M a year for two years is as good of a value as Harris on a 4 year max imo. 4 years averaging 33-34M per. OP is a much better defender... Tobias can get his own shot... OP hasn’t shown that... but what if it’s in there somewhere.


Only question is what else do we have to give... a pick? Done! Exum? Done! A pick Exum and Grayson... slow down turbo. Might be extra salary considerations like taking Howard’s contract... we waive him before he steps on the flight to SLC.
 
Can OPj be a full-time 4, though? The roster gets very weird if he doesn’t spend at least most of his time there (tons of wings, no 4s).

Jazz can play Ingles/Crowder at the 4 and Porter/Korver at the 3. Porter may also be able to create with the ball more than he's shown with the Wizards, since Wall and Beal have been ball dominant.

If I'm the Jazz, I want to rely less on Ingles handling on so many possessions, since it seems to wear him out.

I don’t think he needs to... could play alongside Jae.

Depending on what salary is included in the deal the starters could be:

Rubio
DM
Ingles
OP
Rudy


Or

DM
Ingles
OP
Favs
Rudy

I kind of like the second alignment more but I’m not a big Rubio believer.

$17 million for Favors was not fair at all. Randle got less than $9. Bjelica got less than $7. Smart got $12 per year. Ariza got $15. McDermott got $7 per year. Joe Harris $8 per year. Rudy Gay $10. Belinelli $6 per. Van Vleet $9 per. Ed Davis $4.4. Caldwell Pope $12. Aaron Gordon $21 per (only $4 more than Favors). JJ Redick $13. Zach LeVine $20 per (only $3 more). Nurkic $12 per. Jerami Grant $9 per year.

The only ones overpaid were Jabari and Jordan. And we know now they were very overpaid.

If Favors gets a 3 year deal making $9+, that's fair as hell.

You'd definitely have to include a pick but it would be worth it. What are we going to honestly get with a 1st round pick in the 20's? Likely a player who won't even be in the rotation. If we can get a good player I wouldn't hesitate at all to trade away first round picks.

I don't think as many teams as you think. There didn't seem to be many suitors for Favors during free agency last offseason.

Could add him and still have tons of space to maneuver.

Then in three years we could trade our pick for whoever that pick becomes. NBA Ponzi scheme.
