2020 Presidential election

She handled this as poorly as possible, but she won the ****ing bet! PR fail that will haunt her.

No surprise, of course, that Donald doesn't pay his bets.

Agreed - she should have kept the analysis results to herself just for her own piece of mind and told Trump to go **** himself.

I think it's pretty unreasonable to expect Donald to pay this bet. If you claim you're Chinese, black, Native American, ect and tests show if you go back to 6 to 10 generations you are, then you're not. It wasn't just a bad PR move. It was her being ignorant and flaunting.

(I do not like Trump at all btw.)

To me doing this is much closer to cultural appropriation than wearing a certain dress or having dreads

Did someone say cultural appropriation?

Weird. Why does the left ignore things like this? I thought they think they are the champions against such bigotry.

I'll say it (to you) again. She was told by her family that they had Native American ancestry. For her to repeat that, believing her parents and the rest of her family, was not dishonest in any way.

Using terminology you grew up using in the context you learned it is not cultural appropriation.

Having native American ancestry and listing yourself as "American Indian" on a bar registry form are 2 very different things.

However this issue has been hashed and rehashed and I don't care to rehash it yet again. Obviously people have differing opinions on it. Suffice it to say most agree it wasn't handled well.

Republicans sure do get worked up on the strangest things. They seem to care more about Warren’s ancestry than that the president calling Nazis “very fine people” or claiming he trusted Putin over our own intelligence communities with regards to Russia’s attack on us in 2016.

I guess it’s a reflection of how biased and intellectually lazy we’ve become?

I didn't follow it closely, but my initial feelings on the Warren bit were not positive. I have some native ancestry (3 generations back) and grew up on the rez. I'm not a tribal member though, and would never even consider putting down American Indian as my race. It seems clearly offensive and manipulative to me that she did so.

This is of course only relevant in comparison to other democratic primary contenders. Should she make the general it wouldn't show up on a list of the 1000 least likable things Trump has done.

No. She 100% changed the way she sounds in order to pander to the audience. She was practically mocking them.

Since you're just trolling, I'm not going to assume you are as stupid as you sound right now.

Everyone changes the way they sound based on to whom they are talking. People raise or lower their voices, change their dialects and accents (if they were raised around multiple dialects and accents), etc. Ocasio-Cortez spoke in a manner that many people around her spoke growing up, to the appropriate people.
