2020 Presidential election

Democrats are pissed. Please don't threaten to shoot me again.

A Texas grand jury recently indicted streaming service Netflix for allegedly disseminating “lewd visual material” with its film “Cuties,” which drew furor last month for its depiction of pre-pubescent girls in sexually provocative situations.

'a bit' being the key phasing there, but you both have many of the same flaws

If you don't know Benny boy has always been anti-trump.

Completely disagree. Disagreeing with Trump 1 percent of the time doesn’t make him anti Trump. Ben relies on the facade that he’s anti Trump but has excused him time after time after time. He’s far from being this independent voice of moderate conservativism.

Bill Kristol, Charlie Sykes, and Michael Steele are anti Trump. Amanda carpenter, Jennifer Rubin, and Anne Applebaum are all conservatives I respect who are definitely anti Trump.

Shapiro isn’t anti Trump. He’s not in the same boat as those above. Shapiro might not be a Trump fluffer, like the goons on Fox News in the evening or on fox Business or lindsey Graham. But he’s not anti Trump.

the point being, mocking how anyone not worshipping at the feet of Trump is instantly exiled off Trump island. I’m sorry if that point was too subtle. I’ll try to be more explicit next time.

And as far as the comparison to Jazzy, that’s silly. He’s a troll that doesn’t even attempt to engage in rational debate or discussion.

I really had no idea. I should keep closer track of what Ben Shapiro thinks about stuff... or not.

A bold move? To not explore further aide? When Powell has been screaming for more because there's nothing else he can do to keep the economy propped up on wobbly legs? And who turned him in to Mitch McConnel's boss (not being rhetorical here)? Can't they negotiate while still working to move the confirmation forward? It's possible as a legislator to run and chew gum at the same time. Donald's part in this is simple - he signs the bill they negotiate and provide to him. I mean... wow.

Whatever the reason - Dems, reality, fright, whatever - COVID is a real fear, and it's affecting the economy. There's nothing Trump can do about that. He's been trying and failing miserably. He's at the point now here he HAS to take action, regardless of the cause, or huge swaths of our economy are going to die like branches of a tree that suddenly get chopped off.

I'm starting to wonder if he's trying NOT to win the election, in spite of everything. The markets are turning down. Even the WSJ is absolutely castrating him for this.

It makes no sense.

I actually think pulling the plug on aid is part of the plan. Trump pulled the plug because he’s self-destructing and/or Moscow Mitch pushed him into pulling the plug so they could make a wreck of the economy for Biden. I wouldn’t put it past Moscow Mitch to try to wreck the American economy to kill the Biden administration in its infancy.

As an educator in political science, I think this gives me a key insight into things. Mitch is merely rerunning the same playbook he ran in 2008 when they tried to sabotage Obama’s efforts in rescuing the economy. Republicans purposely tried to make it harder to pull out of the recession in order to make Obama a one term president.

I think they’re trying the same again hoping that Democrats will be blamed in 2022 and 2024 for not rescuing the economy fast enough.

Ben Shapiro is about as anti trump as Susan Collins has been. Meaning, the stuff he disagrees with Trump on are so few and far between that it’s silly. He might not be Donald’s most frequent escort, like Hannity or Graham. But he’s always been ready to get on all fours if it meant Squeezing clicks from the right wing rubes who cycle between Fox News, Breitbart, and Gateway Pundit.

This is what Shapiro wrote a little over 24 hrs ago:

Anti Trump? Laughable. New polls came out today showing Biden up double figures. I suspect that Shapiro is trying to get ahead of the rest of the right wing media and is trying to distance himself from Trump’s inevitable defeat. don’t let him. He’s been sucking Trump for nearly 4 years.

As we see below just one week ago when he claimed that Trump has “repeatedly condemned white supremacy.” Riiiiight. “Very fine people on both sides” isn’t a condemnation.

Meh he's kind of a Trumper but he has called him out on the stuff Trump should actually be called out for. Not like the stupid **** you read these obsessively compulsed psychos talk about every day here. They get triggered over Trump wiping his ***

You're not smart enough to get satire.

Down-ballot, losing their Senate would be just as big of a loss as the presidency. I would expect D majorities to not mess around and be busy before mid-terms in 2022.

Unless the filibuster is destroyed, a Republican minority can block all legislation. Which is exactly what McConnell is going to do. He wants to **** up the country so bad so they can mount a comeback in 2022 and 2024.

Especially if republicans get obamacare blown up by the supreme in November. That’ll force Biden and Democrats to spend valuable political capital to rebuild our health care system. Republicans will fight it. And hope to do what they did to Obama in 2010. If Schumer blows the filibuster, republicans can campaign on the radical left shredding norms. It’s a game that mcconnell has mastered.

it’s the exact gameplan they rolled out in 2008. And it’s what lead to their comeback. 2010 was a Bloodbath for Democrats. Likewise, if Biden and the Democrats are dealing with a major recession and healthcare reform, that’ll leave them extremely vulnerable in 2022.

Oh and I'd rather be ignorantly and childishly called a Nazi by the uneducated here than be compared to the Thriller.

Thanks

I don’t think people realize how quickly the republicans can comeback once the Supreme Court shreds obamacare in November. The economy will be in complete disarray early next year And Democrats are going to burn much needed political capital just to rebuild the health care system to what it was prior to obamacare being destroyed.

American voters are for the most part, disengaged and stupid. Their attention spans are shorter than that of squirrels. So after two years of the economic rebuild “not going fast enough” and a few Biden gaffes, republicans will be on the offensive in 2022. By 2024 they’ll be competitive again just by being anti everything Democrats propose. As we saw in 2008-2010, the worse that Republicans can make the economy, the better off they’ll be politically in the future. Likewise, the deeper they can make this covid recession, the easier their comeback will be in 2022 and 2024. I’d like to think that Americans have grown wise to their game. But I doubt it. People still fall for “trump having a new tone.” When the Dude hasn’t changed his tone in decades.

For those of you doubting the Republican strategy here, just watch how quickly republicans are going to pivot to being concerned over the deficit this next year.

LOL

After spending like drunken sailors for 4 years when they were in charge, suddenly they’re going to be fiscal hawks when Democrats in charge.

“Yeah wed like to provide healthcare to everyone and protect preexisting conditions, bUt ThE dEfIcIt!”

The filibuster will be decimated. My guess is the D’s will take a IDGAF approach and use it as a whip against the last four years of kissing the feet the R’s have done.

I think they’ll expand the court. I don’t necessarily like them doing so, sets a precedent that will bite them eventually, but much like credit, they’ll pay for it later at the benefit of immediate returns. Kind of serves them right for how they treated the vacancy this year vs. 2016 honestly.

RBG a lady I politically am entirely at odds with dies and I was one of the few who paid her the sincere respect and not make it about politics for a 24 hour span. A vast majority of Trump supporters were respectful.

Trump gets covid and you guys wish death upon him and celebrate.

The difference in good and evil is right there. There's good people and there's terrible people. I even gave Biden respect for acting like a human unlike you here

I think, and I desperately hope, that we're looking at a blowout.

I don't want to be overconfident and I don't want to celebrate early, but the tide seems to be set, and not in a good way for Trump.

If election night results are soundly against Trump and mail-in results are just as bad or worse I think we can avoid challenges and legal battles.

High voter turnout is Trump's worst enemy.
