And with Trump saying he can just fund the wall by declaring a national Emergency, how can he justify this shutdown? Like you made your point, if you have a rabbit in your hat pull that **** out and let's move the **** on. On the PBS News Hour last night there was a mom saying her kids aren't going to get indoor soccer this year because of the shutdown. That might sound like nothing, but it's some kids that are going to miss out on healthy activities because of a stupid pissing contest. And that's just one family. Just a few kids. This is hurting thousands of families and many thousands of kids. It's not a game.

It's evidence of how weak a position Donald has found himself in. The best way forward for everyone is for Mitch McConnell to come up from whatever hole he's hiding in, and force Trump's hand.

I think it matters. I think his lack of decorum is not just a style thing. I think it's a lack of understanding and lack of concern for what his responsibilities are.

I think he has damaged our relationships, not just with our allies, but he has damaged our position with out adversaries.

There have been times when I've though, possibly, his image as an unpredictable actor could break through years of stagnation, especially with North Korea, but it looks like they are just as willing to **** around with him at this point as they have done for forever.

Russia thinks of him as a joke. I mean with or without his participation they unquestionably tried to tilt the election in his favor. They obviously feel we are less of a threat with him as our President.

The China situation is a bit up in the air. This "trade war" hurts the world economy, but it hurts China's economy much more than it hurts the U.S. or the rest of the world. It is something that needed to be addressed. I would have loved a more deliberate and intelligent action, but maybe there isn't one. Maybe Trump's naked approach was the only way to put this **** on the table.

And once he's gone we can repair our relationships with our allies, only they will from now on be concerned with being less dependant on us. Maybe that's good, but maybe it's not. I don't know.

That's fine, but on this one I don't see any difference between Trump upping his public *** hole and the team players being *** holes behind the scenes but acting all prim and proper in public. They're all *** holes playing a game. They don't care about any of us or the good of the nation any more than Trump, in fact probably much less (even if Trump's care is badly misguided). I prefer Trump the honest *** hole to the two faced, lying *** holes in this one.

I quoted you because it was relevant to my thoughts on the matter. DC has been playing this stupid shutdown game continuously for a decade now. So what if Trump is using their tactics against them? He is the figurehead, not the one who created this shutdown nonsense. The RNC and DNC stamps did.
