2020 Presidential election

I normally defend you on this forum cuz I think ppl are unnecessarily harsh— but saying that we should stop giving a **** about people drinking sewage for water because “we can count on their votes” really says it all on the bleak zeitgeist of Democrat politics.

most of you truly do not deserve bernie sanders. ****, he probably realizes it himself. but, y’all need him, he realizes that, and he’s going to change the world for the better. blessings to him. I’m bowing out of this convo— looking forward to hearing about you voting for him in the general, and Colton finding a way to justify not voting bernie when this strengthens trumps chances (a politician he ‘hates’)
Dal I need you tho

Sanders is just too ideological. I want the ideologues in think tanks and serving advisory roles. I don't want our President to be a ****ing "Democratic Socialist" I just don't.

I think he would have one of the most ineffective terms of any President and would lose the office to a Republican in 2024. He'd just be too inflexible. He'd get nothing passed because he wouldn't compromise.

If you want the best of what Sanders can do, support Warren. She can compromise and work to get the best possible outcome rather than fighting and dying for the perfect possible outcome.

lol, give me a second.

Okay, the PM is from @Nate505 on Apr. 28th 2018. The title of the PM is "Hey, can you not troll Cy" If nate is okay with it I'll post his post, my response and his follow-up response.

The pic I posted, well, not in this thread but in one of them, is the one Nate was asking me stop posting. Since I'm not sure where it is I'll post it here for reference purposes. I made this pic in Apr. 2018.

Evidently this got under Cy's skin.

For all the years I've been here I've had very little direct interaction with Cy, but when it has happened it has been negative.
Yes I probably got mad at this BS because you morons just cry contrarian anytime I disagree with you.

Now your drunk *** supports Mike Bloomberg over Bernie despite Bernie being the popular choice. Kind of like you're the contrarian....

Get on board or not. Bernie 2020 ya bish

I never said I supported Bloomberg over Sanders. Of the potential candidates Bloomberg is my absolute bottom choice.

The only thing I said was... now pay attention... that I would vote for Bloomberg over Trump. That's what I said that got you all ****ing riled up.

I haven't heard any of that on the news. You want to link me to the news where I would have been brainwashed to believe that?

I don't EVER want any hard core ideologue to be the President, regardless of their ideology. I want a President to be more flexible and more capable of compromise than that.

Do you think Sanders will be capable of compromise if that means violating his ideology?

There's no reason to believe Sander's presidency would or even could tank the economy, so that's exactly what you are saying.
I believe that if he gets elected you will quickly be proven wrong. Rich people didn't get rich (or hold on to wealth) because of stupidity. If they think their money is at risk in this country due to ideas like wealth taxes, etc. they will move as much as they can to protect it. When people start moving money out of the markets it starts to tank, and convinces more people to move their money. It's the opposite of what many people did with their money when Trump made it more lucrative to invest it in our country.

It's not a difficult concept, at all. These people didn't become filthy rich throwing their money around to us peasants. They will protect themselves before losing a literal fortune to help you and I.

Maybe he is saying that Sanders becomes president. Sanders is kind of seen as anti rich/pro poor (no idea if this is true but I think he is seen in that light). The rich (who control the money) **** things up intentionally in a form of protest for us electing a dude who would try to even up the wealth inequality a bit.

Idk but I think Wes is somewhat correct that the economy could take a hit from Sanders being elected. And Wes isn't even close to the first person to float that idea. I have heard it a lot.

I like Bernie a lot btw

I think you are completely wrong about why Sanders would hurt the economy. It's rare to meet a rich person who doesn't want the economy to thrive (I've never met one and I deal with rich people for a living).

I see it very differently. They became filthy rich because they provided us peasants with products and services that we want. In general their investment in innovation has made life better for all of us. Anyone who understands economics can figure out that rich people want other people to have money as well. Otherwise many of the products and services they are selling would be worthless. They are not trying to hold anyone down.
