2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I don’t really care… because the environment he functioned in is more likely the environment I would have him in. I think it’s just as fair to worry about how a guy would fair when he isn’t getting every possible rep.

I don't disagree about his role....but I can't really place him in the top 5 range like others unless he was showing signs of being a super high volume shooter. Who knows, he could be like Booker where the team is holding him back. But I have a hard time moving him up from where I have him (I think I have him at 9 or 10) without knowing how he does in a bigger role and/or truly separated himself as a shooter. I have no problems if someone said he is the best shooter in the draft but I think others are similar or have a claim themselves. There's a good chance the decision is going to be between some combination of Black/Wallace/Dick/Hendricks. I think I would take Black/Wallace there knowing you can probably get one of Whitehead/Brice/Hawkins/Howard later on.

Wallace is 2-11 right now....but he's that dude that still helps you win when he's 2-11. He's definitely hurt so maybe this is unfair, but he still doesn't pop on the screen with his athleticism.

Super ugly offense for Kentucky.

C'mon be honest who.will.be better than Wemby? The Jazz are really looking for 2nd best player that other teams may pass on because they perceive there is a flaw. I like Jarace, Cam, Miller, Black, or Brice for that possibility. I think there is a small chance but not likely that the Jazz could pull it off. The Jazz may, may most likely end up with the 4th or 5th best player in the draft if they are lucky.

Sidy I think will NOT be the 2nd best player from this draft but I think he is a fantastic do it all depth piece that could do wonderful things on a team, ala Joe Ingles.

I don’t think he’s top 5… I don’t see Devin Booker on ball prowess with him. I like him.

I’d have Black/Hendo/Wallace ahead of him and would probably do the same evaluation you did and grab the shooter with the Minny pick.

I could see the Jazz liking Hood-Schifino. I think he could be a real possibility with the Minnesota pick if it's mid-1st. He's not great, but he's solid at most things and plays with good intensity at 6'6".

Last time we drafted for need was Trey Burke. So its not always a good Idea to draft for need. You take the best player and figure it out. Portland didn't draft Michael Jordan because they already had Clyde the Glide.
Burke was national player of the year. Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't he projected to go where the Jazz picked?

Just looking at prospect ages. Hadn't realized that (if KOC's Ringer draft guide is correct) that freshman Jordan Hawkins is as old as juniors Julian Strawther and Colby Jones.

Don't think I can put JHS over Bufkin. He's bigger and little bit better in the mid range, but that's about it.

So my co worker said to me this morning: "Ask those jazzfanz guys (he isn't a member) when they think the Purdue big man will be drafted and what kind of role or minutes they think he will get in the nba."

So lets hear it.
