2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

The good news with Sexton is that he is on fire from 3.

I think coming into the season there where three ways Sexton could increase his value: play a big role on a winner, shoot more 3s, and shoot a higher % from 3.

I think if he starts taking a higher volume of 3s then he's a really attractive trade piece to a lot of teams
Agreed. He's shooting near 46% from 3 this season and not sure if that even included last night's game. If turds like Cam Payne and Kevin Porter Jr are getting rotation minutes on playoff teams there should be value in Sexton. It seems too he is getting that shot up quicker, and obviously making them at a really good clip.

Only caught small snippets of the Knick game but saw he also made a few really good passes to Lauri and Kessler that directly led to baskets. It's baby steps but the floor game has improved over the last 2 seasons in Utah. Just checked the boxscore and he actually had 5 assists last night. That's something we didn't see from him until this year.

Those turds are minimum contract players.

And yes, we saw Sexton get 5 assist last year. He averaged more assist last year than this year, so that statement is completely nonsensical.

Still think the Clippers a ton of sense for John Collins with how well he is playing. Knowing Balmer, he might want to put the gas pedal down.

Only way it works logistically is if they are ready to move on from Mann. Mann and Tucker would work. Terrence has been untouchable in the past but has sucked this year so maybe he is more available.

So... if NOP do want out of the Zion business. The market would obviously be just really poor. His contract is written so he can be waived potentially if he doesn't hit certain games played thresholds... its likely why he changed reps recently (speculation). You doing Collins and Walker for Zion if you are DA?

He may be the next Kawhi/Ben Simmons/Brandon Roy... his body just might never be in the right place consistently and he may not be as committed as you'd want. This deal gets NO two things they need and out of the tax. It obviously aids the tank tremendously but may end up being a millstone we have to carry.

I'm guessing most think this is either laughably low or just would never make the move... but I thought it was potentially an interesting discussion.

Let's trade for Simmons too. Sexton + Clarkson for Simmons

Would do that immediately. It's a gamble, but other than getting lucky in the draft the Jazz would never be able to get a player like that here. And Zion coming to Zion simply seems meant to be.

I thought about this when I heard that he is dropping CAA due to them not being able to negotiate him a proper extension.

I wouldn't want Zion as a max player, due to the health concerns and defensive liabilities.. even if he is able to take over games on offense and be effective about it. I have pretty low expectations that he will be healthy all the way through a playoff run, as that is exactly when he needs to step up and increase his workload, thus also increasing the risk of injury.

I then thought at what price would I be willing to take that gamble? Its probably somewhere around 50-60% of max for me... which I dont feel like he would take to play for the Jazz.

Evan Sidery (losey gosey news aggregator) has made tweets about Sexton and Kessler.

IMO, PHX is probably the most likely for Kessler. LAL, LAC, and ORL good trade spots for Sexton.

I still like my three teamer with LAL-ORL that includes Sexton. PHX has their 31 pick available and could include themselves in some super swaps as well.

Collins -> SAC
Huerter -> ORL
Lyles -> UTA
Anthony -> UTA

Framework of a trade. Collins would be a massive addition to the Kings and would help them beat out the TWolves for a playoff spot. Huerter adds much needed shooting to the Magic. Jazz clear some salary, and get some draft compensation….maybe even from both teams.

So Jazz are going to get Trey Lyles and Carmello Anthony NOOOOOO!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

The potential for an Ingram trade has been discussed before. God that would have been awful.
Maybe, but still a bummer that players are so against signing in Utah.

Part of it is probably a cultural issue. Part of it is probably that the Jazz are early in a rebuild process.
I think Ingram just wants the bag, so IDK if it's really about the rebuild process. Sure, if Utah was looking like a title contender, it might change his mind, but anything outside of that is probably a non-starter for a lot of top players.

Ingram gonna likely find out this summer that he should go anywhere that wants to pay him. If there is a team willing to trade for him he should likely be all for it cuz FA market gonna be limited and finding a team that wants him and his bird rights might be the path to getting paid.

**** it, I would do collins and walker for zion.

My faith in our front office is not high at the moment.

Trying to blow their load on Bridges and PG this past offseason was really dumb. Trying to trade for Brandon Ingram this season would've ruined me if it was successful.

What are we doing?
