You only deal him for a haul for sure. We should never deal guys just to deal them. We’re about to be 0-4 with him playing great.

Better question is what is his value? It would be hard to turn down two solid firsts for him.

I have a dual mind when it comes to this. I sincerely think Hardy is in on the tank and may have some level of buy in. I'm less indignant about the mistreatment of Collin Sexton this year since I don't want us to win. If the Keyonte adventure fails I wonder if Collin is the backup plan. He's not a pg but as a lead creator he is so far ahead of Key right now.
 
If Sexton is only going to be allowed to play ~24 minutes per game, he really isn't different than all the other vets we desperately wanted traded. There's no potential for Sexton to breakout in his current role and go beyond that. Sexton should either be playing 30+ or be traded. Current situation is the worst of all worlds. Bad for the tank, bad for his trade value, bad for Sexton himself.

I get that DA likes to get the best deal possible, but I don't think his strategy of waiting to last second has paid off. Maybe waiting did improve the offers we got, maybe not. It's not worth losing lotto spots to do so.

This is a pretty good summary of how I’m feeling. Not sure exactly what him playing 24 minutes a game does for anyone. Either play him 30+ if he plays so well he turns into a core piece awesome! If he ups his trade value so much due to play that’s awesome as well.
 
Next year he’s an expiring contract. Need to figure out what we have this year.

Yup....and of course playing him 30+ win more games, but at least we get the potential for something else good. If it's 24 and you're keeping him at 24 to tank, might as well just make that zero and commit to it. For our sake and his sake we should stop using these half measures.

I go back and forth on whether or not Sexton can actually change his status around the league, but I don't see the point in keeping him here and giving him zero chance to do so. The Jazz are the biggest contributors to the idea that he can only be a 6th man type. If we traded him and he happened to blow up, I'd still be at peace with the trade because Hardy has already made up his mind about Sexton and wouldn't allow the best version of Sexton to blossom here.
 
I have a bunch of thoughts here... but think I may have to outline them on the pod. I think he will end up getting 28-ish most nights at least until the trade deadline.
 
Sexton drives Hardy insane with some completely ridiculous defensive miscues. I remember in the Memphis game when Aldama was lighting it up and Sexton ran back on defense last and inexplicably went to the same side where Key and Lauri were already covering two guys, leaving Kessler to defend two guys alone.

I decided to find that and this picture really tells the story. Sexton acting like its dead ball and that he can casually organize the defense. Arriving late walking to the crowded weak side with his back towards the ball, while Kessler is already 1 vs 2 there.
